Information For Rose & Lewis

Rose & Lewis is a small business run by Mary. Mary specialises in flower preservation for wedding bouquets, funerals and gifts.

I am able to provide you with keepsake options using your flowers. I can press your flowers so they are flat in the designs, keep them 3D or a mixture of both, depending on what keepsakes you choose. My pressed flower floating hanging frames are very popular, as well as the box frames. Most couples also order gifts for their parents, bridesmaids or other family members. Popular gifts include heart paperweights, resin hanging decorations and sterling silver necklaces. Here are a list of FAQs that you may find helpful: Are there any other costs?
All the prices include my time and experience preserving your flowers, as well as creating your keepsakes. You cover the cost of posting the flowers to me by Royal Mail Special Delivery. I will send your keepsakes to you by the same method at no extra cost to you.

How long will it take for us to receive our keepsakes?
You can look forward to receiving your keepsakes 20 weeks from when I receive your flowers. This will be longer during busier times.

Some of the keepsakes we would like to order are gifts which we would like sooner than 20 weeks after our wedding, is this possible?
Yes, I usually will be able to get the gift keepsakes to you earlier if you need them, if they are resin items. I am not able to do this with any framed keepsake. There will be an additional charge for postage of these items to you, usually £4 for 1st class delivery. Please let me know the latest date you need them by and I will confirm with you that it’s possible.

How do we reserve our wedding date with you?
Email me [email protected] letting me know that you would like to reserve your wedding date with me for your bouquet preservation (after I have confirmed I have availability), and I will send you an invoice to pay your £50 deposit. Payment is by debit or credit card. If you do not pay within 24 hours then please check again with me by email that your date is still available before paying. By paying your deposit as soon as possible, you’ll ensure that you don’t lose your space to another couple. The spaces I offer each month are limited due to space & spending quality time on each piece I design. I am unable to hold your wedding date without receipt of a deposit.

When do we have to pay the final balance?
I will send you an invoice for your final balance, payment is due 2 weeks before your wedding.

Do we have to decide which keepsakes we want before paying our deposit?
No! You can choose your keepsake & gift options anytime up to the date your final payment is due. I will send you a reminder 3 weeks before your wedding if you haven’t let me know before then).

How do we send our flowers to you?
I will send you my instructions for packing and sending your flowers to me when you have paid your deposit. I recommend sending by Royal Mail Special Delivery. It is usually easier to send the bouquet as a whole (as it can be protected better and move around less) than pulling out individual flowers and wrapping them to send.

Can we drop our flowers off to you?
Yes! You’re very welcome to arrange a time with me to drop off your flowers if you’re local to me. My home studio is in Horton Heath, Hampshire

When do we need to send our flowers to you?
As soon as possible after your wedding. This ensures they reach me in as fresh condition as possible. If you are posting them to me, then the next working day after your wedding if possible.

Will my box frame keepsake look just like my bouquet?
When I preserve your flowers for design in a box frame, the process I use will keep their shape as far as possible. Due to possible natural changes in colour due to the drying process they will look different. Flowers take on a more paperlike texture when dried as all their moisture content has been removed. I can design your flowers so they look bouquet-like with stems showing and your ribbon. I can also include any bouquet charms if you let me know. I will create a design that works best for the frame and flowers, this will not be an exact replica of your bouquet on your wedding day as they will be attached to a flat surface in the frame. I do ask for a photo of your bouquet though which gives me an idea of what to base the design on.

Do you do different coloured box frames?
Yes, you can choose from white, grey, limed oak colour or black.

What will my pressed flower frame look like?
Your flowers will be flat between glass. The frame has a metal edging to it, and you can choose from zinc or brass colour for this. You can also choose if you would prefer landscape or portrait, or leave me to choose based on what I think looks best for your flowers. Flowers that are pressed have a different appearance to them than when they are 3D, but they’re equally as beautiful.

How do we let you know what keepsakes we would like to order?
You can let me know by emailing me [email protected]. I will reply with confirmation of your order.

How long will our keepsakes last?
Your keepsake will last for years to come. Keep it away from sunlight and any humidity. Flowers will naturally fade over time. If you order a resin keepsake then follow my care instructions to keep it in the best condition.

How do we look after our keepsake?
For box frames, you can dust them as normal. If you want to clean the glass/acrylic using a glass cleaner then do not spray directly onto the glass, instead spray your cloth and carefully wipe. This is the same for floating hanging frames, also ensure that nothing is sprayed on the frame as it will be likely to reach the flowers which may damage them.
For resin items, do not put anywhere it could become scratched as resin scratches easily. Do not use any chemicals, lotions, perfume, cleaning products near your keepsake. To clean, wipe with a damp (not wet) soft cloth – dampened just with water. Mild washing liquid may be used to wipe and then wipe off with a damp cloth but never immerse your keepsake in water.

Will you use all of the bouquet flowers?
This depends on which keepsakes you have ordered. I will preserve what is needed to make/design them. I am unable to send any flowers not used back to you due to space.
