Information For White Shell Photography
Natural, fly-on-the-wall photography of your wedding. Beautiful, high quality images of you, your spouse, your family and friends all having a beautiful day.
Wedding photography is the ultimate challenge to any photographer. The speed in which you have to work and make decisions, mixed with the need to adapt to certain situations such as dark churches, rain, harsh sun and everything in between. Your wedding photographer has to be calm, composed and experienced enough to deal with every situation the day may present. If you want a calm, composed, experienced photographer that LOVES capturing real smiles, real tears and real emotions then you have came to the right place. From the very moment we meet to the moment you receive your album I will listen to your every need and use my experience to guide you through the day. Together we will gather our thoughts and ideas to ensure no stone is left unturned, nothing is left to chance and by the time the big day arrives, I know what you expect and you know you can trust me to deliver. Typically, I will arrive with the bride in the morning to photograph natural shots of make-up and hair being done. These are fun images that set the tone of the day. Lots of laughter, silliness and occasionally some tears. I will also get some photographs of the groom and his groomsmen being suave and cool! The next stage is the ceremony. Here I'll photograph the bride walking down the aisle, the groom's reaction to his soon-to-be wife as well as the guests reaction. I'll pick out smiley faces in the crowd while photographing all notable moments through the ceremony such as speeches, vows and exchanging of the rings. Once the ceremony is concluded and you're now married, I will begin photographing your drinks reception where I'll capture people embracing, greeting the newly weds, laughing and having a good time. At some point I will take you and your spouse off on your own to do some natural but intimate portraits of the two of you. I also ask for a list of group shots to be provided so I can ensure there are some formal images of key members of the day. I will then stay and photograph all the key moments leading up to and including the first dance. These moments include cake cutting, speeches, father-daughter dance and many other things! Every single wedding is different and unique, the wedding described above is just my typical workflow. It's usually a 10-12 hour day for me but I love them so much they feel like 1-2 hour days!

At one point during the day, step back, take a deep breath, look around and take it all in. This is a tip I give to every bride and groom I've ever worked with. Blink and the day is done.
Big life events such as weddings are often overbuilt in popular culture. It's important to remember this is your day, you're not in competition with anybody. Be yourself, design your day to suit you.
When you walk down the aisle, keep your head up, flowers down and walk nice and slowly. You look beautiful and everyone is here to see you!

Meet the Owner
I'm Danny, the photographer at White Shell Photography. My love for photography grew from my love of visual art, be it paintings, movies, fashion or architecture. I could've happily chose a career in any of these mediums but photography found me, and here I am. I graduated from University in 2016 with a BSc degree in Film technology. My degree focused heavily on the physics of light and the science behind how the camera actually works. Since graduating and embarking on my photography career, I have became obsessed with the biology of how humans see and read images. When I take a photograph, my sole aim becomes, retaining the viewers attention. This paired with my love for storytelling, creativity and the truth, helps ensure there's always a balance to my work. ? From the moment I left university I was always going to be a photographer, so it was a matter of time before I created White Shell and subsequently opened our first studio. I love photographing weddings because of the fast paced, high pressure setting. Capturing beautiful photographs of the biggest day of somebody's life is an honour and one I don't take lightly.
