Information For Selden Barns

Nestled in the South Downs National Park, an area of outstanding beauty. Family owned and run, we create a friendly, warm and exclusive atmosphere.

Selden Barns, at Old Selden Farm, is set within over 50 acres of the South Downs National Park; the idyllic rural retreat for your wedding day.

This family-run venue is exclusively yours to enjoy, and features beautiful, characterful barns, with Old Selden Farmhouse at the venues heart, and beautifully kept lawns and terrace overlooking open farmland and forests.

Selden Barns also benefits from nine guest bedrooms, accommodating up to 24 of your wedding guests, including the ‘The Gatehouse’ Newlywed Suite. Breakfast is cooked to order and served in the Farmhouse kitchen.

Wedding ceremonies are licensed for up to 100 guests in our stunning ceremony space; a converted barn adjoining the Farmhouse with original oak beams, fireplace and exposed brickwork. To add a little extra sparkle, fairy lights entwine the beams overhead whilst you make your wedding vows.

After your ceremony, enjoy pre-reception drinks and canapes on one of our lawns within the walled gardens, or terraces adjoining the Grand Barn; the location for your wedding breakfast and evening reception.

With capacity to seat up to 230 guests for your wedding breakfast and up to 250 for your evening reception, this versatile, flexible wedding space is second to none. With beautiful ivory pleated drapes, swags and tails, vintage chandeliers and a fairy light canopy, you and your guests will enjoy grandeur during your wedding day.

For your evening wedding reception, party the night away on our raised, chequered dancefloor with provision for a DJ or band and the bar located just a ‘boogie’ away! And for those warm, summer nights, step off the dancefloor and through the doors on to the splendid terrace and lawns to enjoy your favourite drink and look up at the stars.

Your venue hire package includes tables, chairs, fully stocked bar and staff, gift and cake tables, post box for cards, easel for your table plan, as well as ample parking. Also included in your hire will be a Wedding Coordinator to help you plan and oversee your special day, ensuring your wedding day runs perfectly.

Selden Barns were absolutely incredible to work with since day one of booking our Wedding day with them. They responded very quickly to any queries we had. We had Elaine as our Wedding Coordinator and she was utterly amazing and a complete asset to Selden Barns. Our Wedding day came and was everything we could have wished for. The whole day ran so smoothly and this was down to the Selden Barns Staff. The time keeping for the whole day was flawless. All I can say is I wanted a fairy tale wedding,I got much much more!
From day one of organizing our wedding 3 years ago,the staff have been so helpful with advising and supporting us on our long journey to our special day. When our special day arrived we were so nervous but the amazing staff made us feel at ease,day before we were decorating the venue they were a massive help and guiding us. Actual wedding started by the bride and her entourage having the most amazing breakfast cooked by the chef and we were waited on hand and foot by a lovely lady in the kitchen,anything we wanted they would sort for us. Unfortunately it rained but it did not spoil our day as the staff kept our spirits up, said our vows then it was on to celebrate with our friends and family. Everyone had such a fabulous time. All I can say is I wanted a fairy tale wedding,I got much much more!
