I was bored over the weekend so went on a tip find!
Found quite a few so decided to share some of them with you guys here and in some other threads!
    (Taken from on-line)

    Top Wedding Tips

    Wedding Dress / Dress Designer:

1.By doing your research you can easily identify the styles carried by most outlets and designers. Remember that location is important as you may need to visit the shop a few times for fittings etc. Also talk to friends who have been through it before for recommendations.
2.Most Bridal Shops are by appointment only and especially on Saturdays. To avoid disappointment make sure you phone for an appointment well in advance.
3.Wear a very good bra when you are trying on dresses, a bad bra will ruin any good design. You may decide you want to wear other supportive underwear for your wedding day, if so, wear the same when trying on styles.
4.Do not bring loads of family or friends with you when you are viewing, go yourself or with one person, whose opinion you value. Then, when you have narrowed your choice down to two or three dresses, get the troops together to help you decide on the dress.
5.Finally, don't get overwhelmed or fooled by detail. The most important aspect of buying your dream dress is to find the right shape that suits you. We all have different figures and shapes and the trick is to find the right shaped/designed dress that will compliment your good points.

    Wedding Cars
When hiring your wedding car these are the things to look out for

1.Try and view your car in person checking it's condition, it's suitability and that Car is owned by the person you are hoping to hire from. Don't view your car in a pub car park. Avoid third party hire at all costs .
2.On viewing the wedding car, the car should have a Taxi Regulator tamper proof license attached to the front windscreen near its road tax and insurance. Remember No License means no insurance for hire and no Nct = No hire. If you are paying money to hire your wedding car it must be licensed if not please walk away . You wouldn't get into an uninsured car normally and especially not on the" biggest day of your life"
3.Make sure you and your partner will be comfortable in the car for the duration of the journey Do you have umbrellas in each of the cars?
4.Having settled on your own wedding car ask about transport for the Bridesmaids/Groomsmen if required remembering tips 1 to 3 when choosing a suitable car(s)
5.Talk through with your wedding car company the route on the day , the photo venue or any other relavent issues etc and always contact your wedding car company one week before your wedding date with your final arrangements. Your car and date is only secured with a deposit and make sure that you receive a written confirmation and receipt .

    Wedding Planner

The following are five excellent reasons why a bride should book a co-ordinator for her wedding day:

1.Appointing a wedding co-ordinator is a major step for some couples as they may feel that it costs a lot of money. The opposite is the case in that we keep you within the budget that you set and ensure you get the best value for money.
2.We will source credited suppliers and vendors who are experts in their own fields
3.Alleviate the anxiety associated with taking care of your wedding by leaving the experts to manage it for you
4.Experience the wow factor with superior room decoration and design that will leave your guests talking about it long after the wedding
5.Enjoy the build up to your wedding while the wedding co-ordinator will deal with surppliers, appointments and the like.

    Flowers
Here are tips to selecting flowers and bouquets for your special day.

1.Always try to pick the flowers in season.
2.Be adventurous it is the most important day in your life; choose a bouquet that is your creation.
3.Bring a photo of your dress, the style of your bouquet will depend on the shape and size of your dress.
4.When choosing your flowers it will also depend on your height, if 5’2 or under go for a small posie if your tall, you can go wild.
5.Do not hesitate to go for colours; pastel and bright colours work well in photos.

    Photography
The following are our photographers top tips on what to look for in a good photographer:

1.Your wedding day is the most important day in your life; the day passes in a flash. It is so important to have a wedding album that captures your wedding party, as it will provide lasting memories for generations to come.
2.Your photographer should be communicative, friendly and courteous at all times. He or She should be enthusiastic about their work and taking part in celebrating your wedding. A professional photographer will take on board any styles and suggestions you may have.
3.Even if the weather is bad a professional photographer will be prepared for anything. It is important to check they are insured and have a back up plan at all times, in case of any sudden changes.
4.Word of mouth. Sometimes a photographer who has been tried and trusted by friends can be a good choice. You may have seen them work on the day of a wedding of a friend or relative and also the results produced after wards.
5.When selecting a photographer ask to view complete wedding albums, not just their best ten photographs they have taken in the past few years. In that way, you can judge how they unfold the story of the day and cover all aspects of your wedding, from reportage to portraiture.

    Videographer

1.Start researching videographers as soon as you have booked your church and venue.
2.Watch as many wedding video samples as possible from selected videographers. Look for smooth camera work and editing. Ask to hear samples of the audio particularly from the vows and speeches. This is very important and often overlooked.

3.Does the videographer have a good reputation?
4.Use your instincts to determine how the videographer will blend in on your wedding day. Will they remain discreet and unobtrusive?

5.Don’t let price alone become a deciding factor. Generally you get what you pay for, but be warned that this is not always so!

    Makeup

The following are top tips on selecting a makeup artist for your big day.

1.When looking for a makeup artist always ensure that you book at least six months in advance. The Reason for this is firstly, to ensure your makeup artist is available for your date. Secondly, if you have any allergies or if your skin is any way sensitive these problems can be rectified at the trial before your wedding day.
2.A good makeup artist will ask you many questions about your likes and dislikes, skin requirements, wedding colour scheme etc.
3.Bring a magazine of favourite makeup looks that you think will suit, to the trial with you.
4.Do not be afraid to ask questions.
5.Enquire about (a) their use of products. (b) What service they provide? (c) What their price includes (and possible extra costs) (d) qualifications, experience etc., as these will help you choose your makeup artist.

    Bridal Shoes

The following are tips on how to choose shoes for your wedding.

1.When choosing your shoes bring someone whose opinion you value and remember it’s YOUR day. Heel height is very important so decide on this BEFORE the first dress fitting.
2.Never leave shoe shopping until the last minute.
3.Remember, shoes are just as important as the dress
4.Bring a swatch of material with you – just in case. Most bridal shoes are ivory but you may need to get them dyed to ensure they are the perfect match.
5.If possible, bring along a photograph of your wedding dress so the sales assistant can advise you on specific styles to suit your dress.
6.Feet naturally tend to swell as the day goes on so do you’re trying on in the afternoon. Also, if you are wearing stockings on the day, bring a pair with you. Before you purchase your shoes, have a walk around the shop to ensure they are comfortable. Remember, you will be on your feet for hours - walking up the aisle, standing for photographs etc

    Wedding Stationary
The following are some important things to consider when selecting stationary.

1.Custom made stationary, personally tailored to you.
2.Co-ordinate to reflect you and your style on your special day.
3.Stationary announces the forth-coming event; a stunning invitation will make a fantastic first impression and create great excitement among guests.
4.With such a variety of venues for weddings, details such as accommodation, directions and pre & post wedding celebrations are included in the invitations.
5.A collection may include the day booklet, rsvp, evening invitation, mass booklet, thank you cards, menus, place cards, table plans and Gilded-lily - Couture Stationary

    Wedding Hair

Here are the top five tips on how to choose your Hair Dresser.

1.If you are having a hair trial before your wedding, leave your hair in its natural form. Whether it is curly or straight, leave it that that way. This will give the hairdresser a chance to see it in its natural shape.
    2.Always wash your hair the night before your trial. This way your hair will not be too soft to go in an up style. It is advisable to have your trial 3 or 4 months in advance;
3.A haircut is better when it settles in, so I would advise a cut 4 weeks before your wedding.
4.Highlights are best to leave until one week before hand. This way there will not be any dark roots showing through and they will also settle in better after a couple of washes. If you can also ask your hairdresser to make sure underneath is done, especially if you are having your hair up
5.A Tint or a Semi colour is also best to have done a week before hand. If there is any problems (which can happen) if can be fixed within the week. In addition, your colour will still look great on your honeymoon.

Another thing to add to the cars is that it can work out cheaper sometimes to order one car and have it make more than one journey. We saved so much money doing it that way it meant we could afford to book me into a hotel room the night before and still save what it would have cost for two cars.
