Got myself into a flap in the shop over the buttonholes, my bouquet is dark red, my bridesmaid whom is wearing a burgundy dress has got a ivory posy, the buttonholes well i thought groom should wear ivory to match me (even tho im a soft gold he refuses to wear that) so thats what i ordered him, tho woman was saying shouldnt he be wearing red to match my bouquet?? the usher and him both have ivory roses but to make groom stand out shes adding a few burgundy berrys to it...but now im home im fretting again, is groom surpose to match my flowers or my dress? xx

OK so tradition states that normally the groom wears the same colour but in this day and age tradition goes out the window! Plus your OH doesn't wanna wear certain colours and he needs to be comfortable with it as well.. stick to what you have, it sounds lovely :o) x x
it is totally ur decision luv. im having pink dolce vita roses and stargazer lilies in my boquet, and the roses wil hav a diamante pin in the centre. H2B buttonhole wil be the same rose wif diamante pin to match my boquet x

Iv got the diamante pins in the centre of my roses but dp refused to have the pin in his...so yeah didnt help with my bridezilla moment in the shop lol. xx

Traditionally the Groom takes a flower from your bouquet, so it would match your flowers, but it doesn't matter.
H2B is wearing a buttonhole to match by bouquet, but that's just because we like pink and it goes, some of our other buttonhole wearers are having different colours...

Arghh so now maybe i should change his flower, i wanted it the tradtional way. Thanks ladies. xx

CommentAuthorSuzi

I havent even thought about buttonholes yet. I'm going to be having ivory and burgandy flowers in my bouquet. xx
CommentAuthorLedZepLover
I don't think it matters, I'm sure no-one will even notice the difference x x x
CommentAuthorEriksfjord
As long as he is happy that's what matters - after all he will be wearing it! Don't worry no one else will notice! x

Our theme is Hot Pink, Ivory and feathers and sparkles. I would like Ant's buttonhole to be a hot pink rose with a diamante in like my bouquet will be and the pink will match the bridesmaids dresses and the groomsmen's waistcoats. ant will have an ivory waistcoat and a hot pink cravat.

I think that as long as the groom stands out from other men it doesn't really matter! xx
