    Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone knows if you can hire a wedding dress instead of buying?

    Thanks! x

I have heard of it, but believe the options are limited.

Yeah options are limited, only certain styles of dresses will be hired and certain material is a no no on the hire front, best thing to do is speak to your local wedding dress shops and see if any of them do it... If it is due to money then trust me, it is almost as expensive to hire as it is to buy and there are plenty of other opportunities out there for some cheap dresses...x x x

You might be better off buying a dress then selling it on - if as Suzi says it's nearly as expensive to hire, it might work out cheaper.

i hired my first wedding dress along with the 6 bridesmaids dresses. She was wonderful, had a HUGE ranch of dresses and even altered the dress to fit me and the bm's. I got mine from a women whose business was in her home tho. But i was 18 and worked out to be ALOT cheaper to hire them rather then buy. They are out there babe you just need to find the people that give this option.

Thanks for all of your replies! I have found a shop and it literally five minutes from me! I dont think im allowed to post web links am i??? But they have an all inclusive package and its for any hire of any brides dress in the shop, 4 bridesmaids dresses, 6 mens suits and full photography package inc 60 page book all for £2600. Does this sound expensive? Ive looked on their site and their dresses look really nice, again im not sure if i can mention the make?? But im not too sure of photography, ive looked on that website and im not sure im keen on the style or not. x

Not sure about the photographer tho as id want to use the lady i have but if you make an appointment with them and see their work and get to know the person who will be doing it, then go from there.

I had a look, everything seem good, however i think best to have a sit down with them and make sure everything is above board, dont want to book and then something happens or extra cost comes up. but good, nice range of clothes, funny enough i like the picture. but go see their porfolio , because these picture tend to look better as some dont retouch photo they put online.

also look around before you commit, might find something better.

Sounds quite good but I think if you were to shop around you could probably find everything alot cheaper, even when buying the dresses. Depends on your budget tho, if you have a large budget then the package sounds like a tidy option but if you are looking at a smaller budget then I would keep shopping around x x x

Hmmm this is what im thinking, it does seem too easy to go for this option, and with me not having a clue whether this is a good deal or not i think i am wise to shop around. Does anyone know roughly how much it costs to hire the suits at all? x Thanks for all your comments by the way!

Well the shop we are hiring the mens suits from are roughly around £50 - £60 per suit. I think this is for the prince edward style option and includes everything i.e. jacket, shirt, cravat, trousers x x x
