How long before your wedding did you buy/order/try on dresses???

I tried on and put a deposit on my dress 2 years before. I am waiting to hear from the shop to pick it up and settle the balance. It was really random that I found a dress so quickly. : )
I have had one peek in a shop, but want to get to a size 10 before I try any on, so won't be doing anything till the winter probably. xxx

ooh congrats Holly!!! I'm itching to go shopping but i feel it's far too early. but after chatting on here all afternoon i feel a little behind with things like the church and reception venue. how do i convince hubster now is the time to start looking at places???hmmmm

I have ordered mine already, I wasn't going to start looking for at least another year but i got all my bridesmaid dresses from the same shop and as i was ordering them i was told by the assistant if i choose my dress i would get a discount since i had spent so much on dresses! so that's why i have got mine already, otherwise i wouldn't of even looked yet! x

Ive found mine and asked if she can do it for me just waiting to get the money together to order it plus i need measurments. So hopefully i'll be ordering end of may/june time :-)

a year ago, but i didn't have my first fitting until last thurs no point before next one in 3 mths, mine is discontinued now so if you see one you love go for it x

About 2 months in advance for me.. and only had it arrive / adjusted about 10 days before we flew out. Eeeek.
But then we did only have 2 and a half months to plan.

I brought mine just under a year before my wedding. Its hard though coz it was an off the rail one so im always tempted to try it on, lol. I do resist the urge most of them time!

I bought mine back in january of this year and its stored at my mums house, I'm just waiting for all the alterations to be booked in to be done so its more me, then will need to have it shortened too (grr to being a stump! lol)

I tried mine on about 18 months before, loved it and have just paid the deposit on it, so its ordered now, but i am not having it delivered until two months before the wedding x
I have know my soulmate for 27 years and on the 6th August
I married him and became Mrs Garnham.
It was most definitely the happiest day of my life.
I love married life !!!!

I got mine just 8 weeks before the wedding!! My original one just didnt feel right when I tried it on so sent it back, then went into a bridal shop in tears saying I'm getting married in 8 weeks HELP!!!! Luckily for me only the 2nd one I tried on fitted perfectly and was pretty much what I had been looking for .... think the lady that owned the shop was just as relieved as I was lol

I got engaged on October 5th 2008 - my dress was ordered on 14th October 2008 and date set for wedding 23rd July 2010 lol. My dress took 7months to make it didn't arrive in shop until June 2009 and my 1st fitting was November 30th 2009 just over 1year since I had first ordered it, 2nd and final fitting was 26th Fenruary and now I have my baby home (well it's currenly in the MOH house) xx

13 months before but they wont order it until 6-7 months before and they said if I find one in the shop that I prefer before then they will transfer my deposit over :) x

I tried mine on about 4 weeks ago - and went back the week later to put the deposit down. It's due in the shop in about 16-20 weeks and then I can have a couple of appointments for alterations - hopefully the last one being nearer the wedding as we're not getting married til August 2011.
