    Hi all,

Not sure if this is in the right place or what to call it really. I have allergic reactions which I can control and normally fine. However a few months ago I moved offices and my allergies got really bad - part stress and part air con/allergic reaction issues. Since then I have had sore skin around my eyes and now spreading to my mouth. I look a picture! I have booked dr but I know since coming off the pill I have had issues with my skin. Dr wont put me back on the pill so I don't think that is going to help. I get some sort of issue like this every year and I am getting married next December, I know stressing isn't helping but looking like this is not helping my stress.

Do any of you have similar skin issues that you can give me some advice with? I am allergic to E45 cream and most other creams like that irritate me. Something that I can use that will prevent my skin drying out I guess it is so dry it hurts :(

I think I am getting myself in a twist worrying about it but that is easier said than done x

Have you been to speak with a pharmasist in your local B00ts or any other pharmacy? They are usually ver knowledgable and would be able to tell you if there is anything that you can get over the counter to help until you see a dr.

You may have to check what creams have in them so they don't make it any worse! Agree with the above a local pharmacy can recommend creams to try as well.

Best to check with GP/Pharmacist what creams to use but in the meantime make sure you have a good cleansing routine and drink plenty of water. You have a year for it to clear up so hopefully you find the cream that works for you soon as stressing will no doubt make it worse (but you will already know this). Let us know how you get on x

I suffer from terrible eczema and my arms and legs were covered with it on my wedding day, probably because of stress and the change in weather.

Steroid creams prescribed by the GP help and I moisturise, like crazy. Face oils are good for dehydrated skin. Avoid harsh cleansers and exfoliators as they make it worse.

Get the GP to refer you to a specialist dermatologist and ask for tests to see what you're allergic to. My skin used to be even worse until I cut certain food out of my diet.

Hope you find a solution soon x

Thank you in dreamland, what face oils do you use? I have a nut allergy so I can't have anything with nuts in, lanolin and there is another that I can recognise but can't begin to spell - I asked the last time I went to the Dr to be referred but I think I will ask to go to a dermatologist, was your Dr hard to persuade? I know stress is a massive trigger and it don't help when people can see it does it. X

I use 81u3 0rch1d 01l from C1@r1n5 which is for dehydrated skin. I also use a serum from the same brand called 8005t3r R3p@1r in a small blue pump tube which I mix a few drops into my moisturiser.

Try cutting out dairy products and shellfish for a couple of weeks and see how it affects your skin.

I had no problems getting a referral to a dermatologist x

I have sensitive skin as well and for ages all I could use was water, until I found l!z 3@rle. I use the cleanse and polish and also super skin moisturiser and it's amazing. I have a few dry patches which have cleared up a lot.

thanks ladies. GF I have been using the cleanser with the cloth and her cream but her exfoliater has almonds in - i wish it didnt.

I really hope the dr refers me. I might try the dairy free for a bit, I don't eat shellfish anyway but I am sure it is something I eat.

    Thanks again all :)

Many years ago, a very close friend had sore patches around her eyes, they were very dry. She tried loads of stuff from the Doctors, but if I remember rightly, she tired some chinese medicine and it really helped clear it up.

Hi I also have eczema, used to have acne and I am allergic to lots of creams. I use organic rosehip oil. You get it from H0££@n & 8@rret
It's amazing as now I am acne free and my skin is clear.
Can highly recommend it. :) X

The weather is not helping at all, one minute it's below freezing, next it's in double figures again.

I know, it's really making my skin flare up. Stress and exhaustion isn't helping it but that's hard to control. Even my fingers have swollen from the weather.

Hope the doctor tomorrow can help x

Dr was rubbish, just given me allergy tablets to control the itch and going to try a new emollient. Wouldn't entertain the idea of me going for testing or anything. Not happy but will see how I go.

Thanks for the support ladies, it helps knowing someone is listening :)

I have been taking antihistamines along with ibuprofen every day for the inflammation which has helped a bit.

Can you ask for a second opinion. How can you know what you're allergic to and need to avoid if you aren't tested. Antihistamines only deal with the symptoms not the cause.

I know! I was so annoyed, that was the second time I have been this year about it as well. I was feeling so down though when I went in, not in any state to be fighting. Yours must be so bad to be taking ibuprofen though, I really feel for you.

I have come to the conclusion though that it is hormone related, I said this and she said, yes some people do have more symptoms at certain times of the month. Said what can I do about it and just had the , use emollient and antihistamines. Great!

I will go back after the winter as apparently that is probably causing it, along with my hormones and something that I am allergic to that I don't know what. Adding the stress that I am getting married next December so I know this is going to happen again doesn't help at all.

I have private medical insurance through work so been searching to see if I can go private to get tested. Might have to give them a call.

I wish you luck though dreamland, I am complaining and only have it on arms and face, having it all over must really be a killer. I had it bad when I was a kid but I think I have blocked it all out of my mind.

Sorry I have been off sick - had a major allergic reaction which is actually good. I have now got allergy testing booked through the dr, I went in and was very firm. On a second plus I have been given 50 50 cream (paraffin and petroleum I think) which looks like it is doing something. I have 2 weeks til my next bought if it is hormone related so we shall see. I think things may be looking up though.
