So we were watching Baby faced brides on catch up last night and h2b had the bright idea of doing our own vows as well as the ones the minister will have us say. So heres my problem where do I start lol. Has/Is anyone else doing/done this?? xx

We're sort of doing it, in a way that we're gonna write or vows but give them to each other before the ceremony. I've started writing little bits, with the hope that it'll all come together before the day! I've started mine with talking about when we first got together and how I felt then, and comparing it to how I feel now. A few tears have been shed as I've been writing it, and sometimes I add to it when we're watching TV (my 'vows' are in the notes on my phone) and hubby to be will just look at me and go "oh here we go again" haha x

We've written our own vows - I'm not sure what OH's are like as we're keeping them a secret until we say them on the day, but the best advice I can give is just to speak from the heart! These are your promises to your OH that you're going to keep for the rest of your lives so make sure they are meaningful, personal and heart felt :)
Having said that they don't have to be 100% serious, you can also put some humorous ones in there too.

Thanks flossie. I couldn't keep it 100% serious h2b would think I had someone write them for me as he knows what I'm like, things get serious and I have to crack a joke lol xx

We're getting married next March :) 10 months exactly today! Like Flossie said just speak from the heart. Write down little bits first, and then before you know it you'll have loads of things written and will have a problem with wanting to cut it down haha. Looking at mine, it's so sarcastic that I'm glad we're not reading it out loud! x

It took me a good couple of months to finalise mine as well. As Jo said I started with writing down little bits and over the months I played around with it, made sentences, joined bits together, cut bits out, added other bits, etc... I would say don't try to rush it as it can be hard to think of things on the spot. Take your time and see what comes to mind over a period of a couple of months :)

We need to write ours yet. No idea what to say... plus they need to be submitted a week before so we better get our ar5e5 in gear and get a shift on!
I'm more of a do it in one girl so I just need to figure out a time to sit and make myself do it.

My dad had a good idea for his, he is getting the standard vows and taking all the religious stuff out. I may copy that and amend as I feel necessary...
