I've written my own vows/promises but OH isn't sure if he can/wants to. He is a man of few words and struggled to express his feelings, so I've told him it doesn't need to be long or soppy - just from the heart. Mine is a side of A4, but I'm the a soft, wordy type and although it might seem unbalanced, our vows will reflect us as people.
But if he really doesn't want to I won't force him, so I am toying with the following two ideas...
A) I could probably do it as a sort of reading/brides speech at dinner
B) Record it as a video message (we're having a videographer) and include it in the wedding video?
Which would you do?
Started dating: 10th February 2011
Welcomed our little girl: May 2015
I proposed: 23rd December 2015
I finally become Mrs R 17th August 2017

Do your own vows as your vows. Just prep OH to say you have written the amount you have so he doesn't feel bad. Anyone at the wedding who knows you both will know that is who you are. Personally, and to be honest I've never been to a wedding where I've been able to hear the vows anyway, so don't worry about people thinking it is soppy.

Could you point your OH in the direction of some ideas of what to write from a book or website. It may help to give him a a starting point and the words might come to him. At least then he'll have had a go but if he still feels he can't do it then recording it in the video seems like a lovely idea to be able to watch back. X
