Hi all just wondering if people did or are planning on sending RSVP cards with invites? On the insert we have put our address for people to RSVP and also my phone number. Not sure whether to send RSVP cards and envelopes too or if people wish to send a card then let them send their own? Also wondering if this would affect the cost of postage as we also have to include little inserts about booking rooms and also one for directions. Thanks.

For those who sent cards did you get many back? I think most people would be quicker to pick up the phone and call or text but thinking if I send a card they may feel they have to reply this way and may take a while to get round to doing it!

We are having them but we have menu choices so we need them back for that reason xx
I was debating about this, I think we will send them like Leanne said its better for menu choices :) x

We don't need menu choices. I'm not sure I'll bother about them!

I'll definitely be including them, also with a stamp on the envelope, it gives them no reason to not reply :) xoxo

Do whichever feels right for you and the guests you have. A lot of people do email RSVPs, no cost for making them up or return envelopes etc, plus the majority of people can send a reply now really easily on email and if you do need food decisions etc this can also be done on email. We have just booked our party date for when we get back and I thinking of just doing an email invite and word of mouth for the family as it will be much cheaper.

I had to buy large 2nd class stamps but didn't cost too much. Was about £10 in total. We've had nearly all of them back.

I didn't send RSVP cards. My uncle sent RSVPs with SAE and hardly anyone used them. He was so disappointed xx

We put cards in, particularly as we were asking about any dietary requirements. It was only one card and didn't affect the weight. We also had cards with hotel details, but only for those who were travelling. Most people sent the cards back, some chose to email or FBook message us, and some sent other cards.
30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.

We sent RSVP slips with our day invites but not our evening ones - we just added my mobile number on the evening ones so people could call/text. The majority of our day guests returned our RSVPs - only 2 sets of guests chose to send their own acceptance card. We didn't provide stamps or envelopes as we knew most people would return them to us in person or drop them off rather than posting them.
We had 4 inserts in total tied up with hessian, lace and a key - I used large first class stamps just to be sure. No one had any problems.

Thanks all for your replies. I've seen some on eBay I might order. Save me doing them out myself

I think it depends. I am going to a wedding in Sept and they haven't given us RSVP cards. I just bought my own. I don't see an issue in this. They even have a menu choice but have specified to include it on the RSVP.
I have included them in ours as we want to add a few extra things to them

We put them in and they also had their dietary requirements as well on there.

It would be so much easier if it was thought proper to send the ones that kids have for birthday parties with the cut/tear off section at the bottom of the invite.... ;)

We did them but completely forgot to put our address on and only put email address and phone number *doh!*
Our invites were pocket invites which had four inserts and were quite bulky and they were a second class large stamp each
