Mine is going in two siZes already .. I was hoping to loose a bit more weight before the wedding and the dress shop didn't say this would be a problem but mines a corset back .. It does have a lot of beading and detail on mine too .. I'd speak to a seamstress asap :)

Should be no problem, the standard dress can usually be taken down 4 sizes at the seams without much fuss at all. Major alterations might be a bit more one the expensive side though so maybe try and factor that into your budget a bit :)
Exciting that you've found the one though! Were you on the look out for the particular style?

I read that wedding dress sizes are bigger, so a 10 normally would need 14 wedding dress. I'm a 8/10 and my dress is a 12

Not heard that before Lindsay. Mine is a 10 and I am an 8 and the dress does need to be taken in a bit. Unless the shop I got it from put them on the rails of the actual size that it would fit

Lindsey I got told my wedding dress would come up smaller as well.
I too had heard that it was two sizes that they could alter it by dependant on the detailing.

I think normally 2 sizes, 3 at the max depending on the dress.
I was also told about wedding dresses coming up smaller than high street sizes. My 'high street' size was nowhere near fitting me!!

Maybe they use US sizing as mine was also a 12 I think but at the time I was a perfect 8.

Mine was a 14 in the sample sale and I was a size 8 by the time of the wedding. It was slightly big to start with, but ended up huge. Taking it in is not usually a problem, letting out is where they struggle as they have to find extra material from somewhere.

if the dress is a 22 then it will probably fit a size 18/20. A friend who owns a bridal store has explained to me that most dresses can be taken in upto 3 dress sizes without issue. this means your dress could be taken down to fit a size 12/14 comfortably. if you lov e the dress buy it xx
