Hi everyone, just wondering what time you have booked for your ceremonies? We are having a church wedding but finding it difficult to decide what sort of time we should book the ceremony for.
Also did you put the actual start time or an earlier time on your invitations? :)
CommentAuthorCarolH81
We are having ours at 4pm put 4pm start on invitations, coach picking people up about 3pm to make sure everyone is there earlier.

I'm getting married at 1.30 although I'm having a civil ceremony at the same place our reception will be. I'll put the actual time of the ceremony on my invitations, I'm sure people will know to be there before then!

We were going to be 2pm but pulled forward to 1.30pm to give a bit more travel time between the church and reception.
At a friends wedding last year, some guests arrived after the bride! Apparantly they hadn't been to a wedding before so thought it was like a party were it says 7pm but means anything from 7... Idiots. So we have written "Bride to arrive at 1.30pm" on our invites so everyone should know to get there before then. Fingers crossed lol. X

Ours is at 1pm but not sure if to put 12.30 on invites as looking at doing a bus for guests so not sure if to put actual time or earlier time! Think I need to sort the bus out first then put a time on the invites
we are having a church wedding at 2 and have put 2 on the invites. if you put earlier you then run the risks of guests turning up even earlier which they wont be happy with x

We had 12:00. We put the start time on the invites, most people will plan to arrive well before the service starts.
30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.

3:30pm as wanted enough time to get everyone ready with the children around and give people enough time to travel up too without having to stay 2 nights!

We are still trying to decide on time- we were originally thin on g 2pm but this may be 3 or even 4pm as we are getting married in Verona so should be a bit cooler late afternoon :-)

My OH wanted to get married at 11am, which I said was far too early. Thankfully my future MIL agreed with me. We're now looking aroud 12.30/1pm - we need to go and see the priest when he is back from his holiday.

Ours is at 2pm. We are putting "ceremony to start at 2pm" on the invitations. People should have the common sense to get there earlier anyway, if you put an even earlier time on the invitations you run the risk of some guests turning up even earlier and then having to wait around for quite a while.

We booked ours for 3 and put on the invites "ceremony at 3", there was only one couple that aimed to actually arrive at 3 and were 5 mins late. But I was 15 mins late so it didn't matter ;)

Ours is at 2pm I put 2pm on the invites as after asking few people it seemed the general view was the time you put on a wedding invite is the ceremony start time. Also I have told h2b to make sure he there in plenty of time to meet and greet guests as they arrive x

Our ceremony is 2pm, so will be putting that on the invites but obviously expect people to arrive earlier to get seated! xx
CommentAuthorInDreamland
We said ceremony start at 1.30pm so put in the additional information sheet that we kindly request guests arrive and be seated I think it was 15 minutes before.

We're getting married at a hotel, our venue suggested a service of 2pm so thats when we're getting married. They said if we were to get married in a church then they suggested 1pm. Our sit down meal is for 4pm xx

We're getting married November next year and was discussing a time for the ceremony. However, we would like to have some photos taken just before/during/just after sunset and weren't sure what the best time would be. The venue will be changing the room around and would take about an hour and a half, which is when the photography can be fit in. Obviously no one can tell us when the sun will decide to set :P would 2 or half 2 be best? I'm so confused XD
