I have spent months looking for the flowergirl dresses I wanted, and couldn't find them anywhere then found similar ones but at £100 a pop just feels abit much. And asked a seamstress and was quoted £150+!! Have searched some more and found someone who is charging approx £40-£50 per dress. And have seen her work and it is so clean and neat and lovely. Get a good feeling about her. So have told her what I'd like and just waiting for an actual price for all three. I am very excited but slightly worried as I know its still a year before the wedding is it too early to buy? I'd get them made for the age the girls will be at the time. Is this too much of a risk? Also wondering should I have buttons or zip on the back and if they do need altering which would be best. Sent wNt corset as only little girls x

Personally I would wait especially for children and the reason I say this is my son who is 5 (6 in Sept) is the same size height wise as an 8 year old boy, He grows so fast and should really be in age 5-6 clothes for his age but is mostly in 7-8. All children grow at different rates and one 3 year old could be in size 2-3 and another be in size 3-4 for example.

If your happy to take the chance then go for it.

Kids grow at different rates, they can be big or small for their age. I'd suggest waiting until 4 months before the wedding before ordering any dresses, even then you'll need to allow a little growing room.

I'm just after something simple a satin top half with satin skirt but sparkly tulle overlay with a white trim and a satin sash with a good size bow and ends. But can't find a decent quality one anywhere. Only think making me want to so it sooner rather than later is if they dont turn out how I want them then I'll need to order again and want to allow myself enough time. I just don't want to leave it too late but like u say they all grow at different speeds, ATM they are all in the clothes of their ages x

I'd personally wait until nearer the time. I got mine from China and ordered them in the April, took. About six weeks to arrive, we got married in th October. I did order slightly larger to give them room to grow and if not have it taken in but all fitted lovely on th day

I agree with Elizabeth, I would wait personally. They might be the same sizes now but a lot can happen in a year, that a lot of growing time.

yes agree with the top two ladies, kids have random growth spurts and you wouldn't want to risk then being too small closer to the time xx

I'd wait too. Kids grow at a rate and a half so it's hard to know exactly what size they will need, it may work out more expensive if they didn't fit and you needed to get more anyway xxxx

When earliest do you guys recommended buying? I want them early enough that if there something wrong I can re order from elsewhere. But they are being hand made so will need to allow making time too. X

If this new lady is making the dresses, how long does she need to make them? Because you could order them now if you're happy with the design and price but wait to give sizes until nearer the time in case any of the kids grow. x

I'm just waiting back on her quote for them and then will ask time frame but I think her turn around is a few weeks so would guess 6-8 weeks for three. Think I'll order them now but ask to have them made 6 months before hand just be hard holding off that long haha x
