Hope this is ok to ask but was wondering how much everyone is spending on hair and make-up for the day? And what's good prices for you as the bride and your party?? Am just looking and can't tell if they are too expensive x

Mine is £400 for hair & makeup for myself (inc trial), 3 adults bridesmaids, 2 junior bridesmaids & a flower girl. This seemed to be the average when I was asking for quotes, my trial is tomorrow :)

Mine is £240 for me, hair and airbrush makeup, it's £40 each for bridesmaids hair only. And £90 for my trial.

I had a range of quotes similar to this.
Had a much cheaper quote of £50 but the photos they showed me were too clown like!

I chose my artist as when we met she just seemed to fit my style, and personality.

I have decided I want airbrush and the price one person has given me is £60 for the day with offer of £10 for the trial usually £45 and bridesmaids £45 under sixteens £35 but will under £16 need airbrush? I thought bit eyeshadow and lipgloss will be ok? ( age 11,5)
And they do hair bride trial and day £95 bridesmaids £45 under sixteens £35 ( not sure if this price is good or not)

I think theres a lot of variation between location. For me and three BMs hair and makeup it was supposed to be a little over £200, but it's a friend doing it so said she'll do it for free and just need £50 to pay the other staffs wages. :) happy days.

I've had some people recommended to me by my photographer and their prices are cheaper one by a bit and others by quite a lot, but don't think I want to go too cheap so not sure if I should go for medium price :/ x

True, I think I'll ask them questions and see what feelings I get from them. One person was like £20-£25 each and that was without knowing what was wanted to couldn't understand that. And not sure if I should get one person to do both hair and make up or separate ones :/ x

Depends totally what you like I think. I've only really noticed those who do hair AND makeup so might be package prices.

I know someone who is trying to start out in wedding photograpghy but can only use really cheap rates because he hasn't got much in his portfolio on weddings, although he's been doing photography for years. It applies to all areas so keep that in mind if someone seems cheap. Any questions you have shoud help with your decisions as to whether they are just starting out on cheap rates or if they are generally cheap because they aren't all that good. X

£60 per each adult bridesmaid - hair & makeup
£10 per each child bridesmaid - hair & light makeup (lipgloss)
My flower girl (3 years old) is free

My usual hairdresser will be doing my hair, she charges £15 for blow dries and £20 for hair ups, this is the same for BM's. Plus my trial at £20.

One of my BM's friends is a make up artist and will be doing my make up for £50 including trail and BM's and my mum's for £15 each.

My mum is paying for hers and my sisters (BM) hair and make up so it will only be costing me £80 for mine and 2 BM's make up and a maximum of £80 for hair :)

Just out of curiosity if you pay for a trial and you don't like it do you get your money back? And if you have a trial are you then obliged to book that person for your big day? this isn't something I've thought about yet, my MOH used to be a model tho and she's great with make up (she used to do mine when ever we went out because I'm crap at it lol) so I might just have her do mine

You won't get your money back because you've still paid them for the service.. if you tell them what you like/want and then you don't like it that isn't really their fault! You're not obliged to book with them either though x

Arranging hair and make up is one of the things I am dreading most as I bet it's going to mount up to be really expensive :( I definitely want my hair done nice but can't get too excited about make up, but then I want to feel 'special' on the day and look as good as possible lol! I feel I should pay for my 4 bridesmaids to have their hair and make up done too which is what is going to make it really expensive!!!

I wasn't going to pay for my BM's hair and make up but I am asking them to pay for their shoes so didn't want to ask too much. Plus my mum paying for her's and my sister's makes it so much easier! Maybe try to find somewhere that will do their's a bit cheaper, even if it means getting somebody different for yours x

The price I've been quoted for hair is: £90 for me; £60 for bms and trials are £45. Make up is £30 for trials & £50 for the day. The lady I'm using is the only one I know does good work so am going with her even though it might be a bit pricey. Having our trials in 2 weeks so will see how it goes and clarify the costs.

Good point Emma, didn't think about having more than one hairdresser or make up artist lol. I haven't done much research yet but will definitely bear that in mind!!

I've not asked my bridesmaids to pay for anything but I dunno, it feels a bit rude asking them to pay for their hair and/or make up :/ I would be happy to pay depending on what's left in the budget at that stage though. The only other thing they will need to pay for is their rooms on the night x

I paid around £350 for full hair and makeup for me and my 2 adult bridesmaids including all hair accessories, individual eye lashes (so much more natural looking than the strips) and my trial. She does London fashion week so is amazing. My sister used her for her wedding and she did such an amazing job on her and me that as soon as our date was set and booked with the church and reception venue she was the first supplier I booked.

I've had a quote today for hair for each person (me or bms) at £45 each and makeup for £50 each or airbursh for £75 each. They also do a bridal package for £125 for hair, airbrush make up and shellac manicure. But I have no idea if this is a good quote.
I'm thinking of paying for bms hair and asking them to do their own makeup. X
