Hi everyone - I am getting married on 28th August this year & one of my bridesmaids will be 13 - she is about 5ft4 already and wears an adult size 12 - I don't want to put her in the same dress as the adult bridesmaids as she is a child despite her size - I like the idea of an ivory dress but am having a nightmare trying to find something. The usual BHS for juniors will be too small and I don't want to spend a fortune. Has anyone any recommendations or ideas? Appreciate your help :)

I think if she is an adults size 12 you will be better off buying her an adult dress rather than looking for junior sizes. It doesn't have to be the same dress if that's not what you want, but it might make her feel uncofomfortable if she stands out as being 'different'. I would ask her what she would prefer - at 13 I would have wanted to wear the same as the adults and be a proper bridesmaid as opposed to a flower girl.
You said she is a child, but she's not a child at 13, she will be a teenager and young adult x
Happily married

At my cousins wedding I was only 10 and small and wore the same dress as the adult bridesmaid. You don't want her dressed like a flower girl at 12 when she's already at secondary school.

I think you will have to look at normal adult bridesmaids dresses especially with her build. She probably feels like a young lady and allot of the junior bridesmaids dresses I've seen can be a little childish for a girl of her age x

One of my bridesmaids was 11 when we got married but she wore the same dress as the adults and she loved it! We had the neckline changed for her because I didn't feel a sweetheart neckline was appropriate for an 11 year old but the dress looked lovely on her and she felt like a grown up on the day xxx

I've had the same dilemma as my half sister, who is bridesmaid, will be 13 in a couple of weeks. I found a couple of options in J0hn L3w1s and N3xt in ivory. We're going shopping next weekend to try them. It's difficult because she's not really a child but not quite an adult

Thanks everyone for your replies - I wasn't going to put her in a flower girl dress but just didn't want to put her in the same as the adults...but I can see your point about her standing out and maybe not feeling comfortable - I guess I hadn't really thought about it like that.
I do have an extra adults dress, maybe I'll see if I can get straps for it.
Thanks

I agree with the girls too. Even if you just get the same dress as your adult bridesmaids and have straps added to still make her stand out and dress her as a young adult but address her as a grown up kind of thing x
