I thought I might start a diary to keep a track of what I am doing and have done (and probably scare myself in the process!).
Wedding venue - booked and deposit paid Registrar - booked and deposit paid. Wedding insurance - bought. Wedding dress – I won it and my Mam is paying for my alterations! Accessories – veil, shoes etc Bridesmaid – need dress, shoes etc Flower girl - dress bought, need shoes etc. Page boy outfit – to buy. Mans suits – to arrange not sure if hiring or buying yet. Venue decoration – to sort. Cake – considering making our own. Flowers – to decide on real, artificial or brooch bouquets. Favours – to be decided.
Hair and make-up - this is causing me to worry as I hardly wear make-up but obviously want to look nice in the photos...
I'm sure there's a lot more things that I have missed off! xx

Oh yeh - I knew I'd forget something.
I think we want a band and the venue does a DJ for £200 who will have your own specified playlist which we thought was reasonable? x

My wedding bracelet - a work in progress
I am building a bracelet to represent all sorts of things that are important to me or have a link to the wedding. The wing is for my Gran who passed away, the peacock is for our theme and the clips have leaf motifs on them as our venue has the deer Park and so quite a few trees :-). Fellow collectors know that this brand can be pricy so just as well I have over a year to go!

Thanks ladies :)
I haven't decided on the veil yet. I did contact an online company by e-mail twice and once by phone but they haven't gotten back to me so I think I'll just look out for a sale in a regular dress shop. The one I tried on in the shop was about £160 and I can't justify that even if it was gorgeous!

I wonder if it would be possible to make this myself out of artificial flowers? Does anyone have any experience of making a bouquet themselves?

Emma, I'm going to try making my own bouquets.. no idea how it will go but it's worth a try! I think the main thing is the 'structure' and making sure it is secure.. but it is definitely do-able! Might be an idea to have a read of the DIY thread so you can get some ideas/advice :)

We're probably going to send them out in the next month as we are getting married around August bank holiday weekend and people might book holidays. Plus as my other half is Irish, so it gives his family time to plan and save to be able to come over. :) x

April thank you for the recommendation. They have been really helpful and I've fallen in love with a beaded lace waist length ivory veil. It's going to cost £72 but as the one I tried on in the shop wasn't half as nice and was more than double the price so I think I will go for it. Just waiting for the sample to arrive to make sure the ivory is a match for my dress. :) x

My Aunty's tiara.
Thanks, just ordered more wax to get started. We decided on Moss pearl green to go with the peacock colours :)
I have my Aunty's tiara to try as I thought it would be nice as something borrowed but it's quite tall. It gorgeous but I don't think it is what I want. I hope I don't offend her. I think I might just look for a comb or a flat head piece if that makes sense? Princesses must do a lot of practicing is all that I'm saying, it feels weird wearing one! :)
