I've just done a table plan and realised that we've got 119 people coming and only planned for 11 tables of 10 in the room already. Sean's off to the hotel next week and I'm hoping they'll be able to add a bit onto one of the tables so it can sit 16 and I've added an extra person onto several of the others. I had 105 on my main list and I'd forgotten to factor us in and I hadn't included some children and then we had a couple of extras to add (excuses, excuses)

What I am really looking for is re-assurance and comfort. The big table (if they can do it) will be the people I know will hardly sit at the table anyway as they'd rather be stood at the bar. It's a buffet which makes it a bit better.

If your hotel is any cop and has the room I'm sure they will fit in the extra people ( more money for them too! ) so I'm sure they will be fine about it ... it's an easy mistake to make with numbers ... my Mum is making my evening invites and was gonna make 70 which would have been one each instead of one per couple!! lol good job you checked though .. have you got enough money for the extra people? x

I'm sure it will be fine - especially as it is a buffet and some of the extras are children. It might possibly be the case that some people are unable to come at the last minute, which would be a shame, but would mean a few more seats!

    Don't worry!

Thanks - I am sure it'll be ok but I am worried that it'll be a squash! There will always be people who can't make it and we've decided to do a table plan because I thought it would be easier rather than families trying to sit together and having to be split up. Mind you because I know everyone very well I've not put entire families on the same table to get everyone talking. I've been very careful as I know there is nothing worse than not knowing anyone on the table. If I have had to split families up and I mean cousins not parents and children they will be sitting back to back instead and it is going to be cosy so they won't be that far away

the venue said 11 was the maximum although the room didn't feel full with that many - i think possibly they don't have another one!

I tend to invite random people whenever I go out and get drunk! Good job I don't have a seating plan or major number restrictions! I just tell them they can come-but can't eat the buffet! Lol xx

LMAO auntie you sound just like my H2B, he has invited an extra 8 people already! It's only when I remind him that for every extra person he has to pay out another £35 each does he start to reign it in a little!!!!

One of the extras was someone I'd invited when I was drunk and then left him completely off the list - another was an auntie that should have been on the list as well. We started out with 80/90 and have almost 120 who have said they are coming. I'm sure it'll be fine and we've decided to ask the venue if they've another table to make it 12 x 10 - their website says they can cater for up to 120 for a wedding so fingers crossed.
