Hey everyone! I'm getting married in July 2016 and was just wondering when it was best to send out save the dates. I know with it been the summer people will be going on holiday so don't want people to book there holidays for the same dates! Do you think January 2915 is too early and then to send the actual invites out January 2016 or is this leaving it to late!

I think that sounds fine, we're getting married in August 2015, we booked in Jan 2014 and sent our save the dates as soon as we had them ordered (well to some people, a lot of our save the dates didn't actually get sent) but we told everybody the date, so some people like our friend who is an air steward, have already put in their requests for leave. We will be sending our invites out in February

Ours have just gone out with Christmas cards for April 2016. We sent early because its a Friday wedding so more people are likely to need to take time off. I think what you've said sounds reasonable because as you say people may start booking holidays for summer. Best thing about sending our save the dates was having other people getting excited about our wedding :-) x

I would generally say to send save the dates a year before. You don't want to risk them getting lost or ruined if there's too much time before the wedding.

As soon as they come I think I'm going to get them sent out then. There's a lot of people that already know our date as well but I still feel like I need to send them to the people that I want there for the ceremony xx

I think you've got it right. We decided not to send save the dates, but if we were to, I would send them 12-18 months before the wedding, and send invites out around 6 months before x

We did ours a year before, any earlier and I would be worried about them getting lost/forgotten about. We mainly did them because we have friends all over the world etc :)

I would say 12-18 months before, we decided not to send them but when we were planning to we were going to send them around now for our wedding in May 2016 x
