I ordered my wedding dress from [link removed] and not only was the dress nothing like the picture , it was a very bad copy at best but their customer service is terrible . They said they'd give me 15 % off dress as I was so unhappy but that doesn't even pay for the postage . I have emailed them few more times since this and they have not replied . I can't afford a £800/900 dress and now down £150 it's terrible how they can be like this about something so important to someone.

I thought about getting a cheaper copy, but I joined brides beware on book of face and decided it was too risky.

Seeing all the horror stories on there made me realise that I could just put in more hours at work to pay for the real thing.
Sorry your dress isn't what you hoped for, tell your story to beware, it'll help get the site shut down and other brides dreams being broken...

I had been tempted when I found my dress as well. It was £1500 and I could get it for £100. I had put a status up on the book and a friend who works in bridal said she would do me a deal and let me pay it off. I am so glad I did that in the end as seen copies of my dress and they are not that great.

Thanks for this review as I was looking at some bridesmaids dresses on that website. I have now decided (I think) to use she who can't be named. I wasn't particularly worried about the quality, but more so the customs tax!

Sorry your dress hasn't turned out how you wanted - for what it's worth, I still think it is really nice and they've actually done a good job, although it doesn't really look like the picture. The thing is they use the designer's pictures, so obviously their creations aren't actually going to look identical to that. I don't think I would ever risk it for my dress!! x

Have you tried it with a hoop underneath to give the skirt the same shape?
It might be because I'm looking at a tiny picture on my phone but other than the skirts shape I think it looks pretty good!

Looking at it I think it's not too bad until the bottom skirt, you need more layers underneath to fill it out, plus it needs to be altered to correct length so it hangs properly and it's not tight enough on you, it could be altered by a Tailor if you want to make that one better for you? But it's never going to look exactly like the model
Picture! Thus why it costs so much less. The colour is also because it's made using cheaper fabrics that are synthetic and give off that brilliant White look.

Hey KelBel and Flossie, just wondering who is 'she who cannot be named'? I tried looking on our walls but wasn't sure what to look for? I really want my BM's and FG's dresses made, but am struggling to find someone good! Thanks in advance X

I agree it definitely needs alterations, and the different fabric is giving it a different look. It was never going to be absolutely identical.

sorry to say but its only really worth risking a cheap replica if you can afford to lose a hundred quid if it does turn out bad.. its always going to be a big gamble and never going to be same as photo. They don't have a pattern of the real deal or use the same materials . Sorry you have had a bad experience, .. hope you find a fab dress their are so many out there, try and find some bridal shops with great sale racks, I know some ladies who got a £1000 dress for 250 in sales.. :)

Everybody I have spoken to has told me not to buy things from companies online. Always go and see your dress in person and pay that little bit extra to get what you want.
I hope you sort out your dress soon.
I'm so sorry you had a poor experience and thank you for the warnings! Xx

I'm sorry you had a bad experience but i've got to say if it was going to be a good replica of such an expensive dress, don't you think everyone would be doing that and no one would buy a £800/900 dress. It's a gamble you take and in my opinion one with odds already stacked against you hope you get it sorted xx

    ^^^ Good post.

Some people just can't afford the real thing though, and some people are lucky and get fab dresses made that they love! I personally wouldn't risk it with my wedding dress, but I still think the one in the original post isn't actually a bad replica at all. Obviously you're not going to expect the dress to be EXACTLY like a designer dress.. but I expect the majority of designer dresses are made overseas anyway?
