Hi! Just wondering how much have people given away to friends/family about there big day? I have my Aunty down from Rotherham and she is asking sooooo meany questions! Before she came down I agreed not to give alot much away so it's a suprise on the day. I haven't shown her my dress, or bridesmaid dresses, I haven't told her what cake we are having or any details. Just answerd with things like I haven't decided yet, or it will be a surprise :). My problem comes with the coular, my mum and sister don't think I should tell them my coular but I'm not sure, my Aunty said 'when you have decided a coular you need to tell us do we don't where the same, that got me thinking should I tell peor or not? What dose every one think? And what are you ladies giving away? Xx

I don't think there's a problem telling people the colour, then at least they can avoid wearing it. Ours is obvious from our invites that will be going out anyway so depends how you design them.
My in laws (we live with them) sister, stepmam and bridesmaids have seen my dress BMs, stepmam, sister and in laws (seen pictures) have seen the BMs dresses I've showed people who are close to us other bits of planning like cake ideas, shoes, centrepieces etc
I've probably told too many people too many things tbh, I can't contain myself when we tick something off the list.

I'm probably giving away too much detail, just like April I'm so excited I want to show everyone who asks. I've tried to calm down but I get carried away!

I think telling people the colour is probably a good idea as they can avoid it. We've told people who seem interested our colour but won't be going out of our way.
We're the same in that we've probably given away too much, my bridesmaids know almost everything. We've decided we're keeping our first dance just for us as our parents and bridesmaids know absolutely everything else. Trying to keep other details quiet for other people, but it's hard, we have let quiet a bit slip... like the fact that we have a band ect.

Everyone knows what colour BM dresses I'm having, hopefully they wont wear the same, although my Auntie has told me shes been looking at pink dresses which I'm not too impressed about tbh. My mum and 1 of by BM's have seen me in my dress, my other BM has seen a pic as she was unable to come when we went shopping. My best friend who lives in Scotland has also seen a pic of my dress. My mum, auntie, and some friends have seen BM dresses and flower girl dresses. People do keep asking what my dress is like, I tell them "its a wedding dress" lol that's one thing im defo not giving away! xx
I've told quite a few people about the details. The only people im keeping my ideas etc away from is my brother and his soon to be wife, as after me and my fiance set a date, they decided they were going to get married three weeks before us and in the same church!
My friends have all seen a pic of my dress though. But only my mum and sister have seen me in it.

Some people know a few details about the wedding. That for example it's an Alice in Wonderland theme but not the finer details

My best friends know all the details of my wedding as without them I would probably be clueless!! We used our colour scheme in the save the dates and the invites so everyone generally knows what we've gone for!

I think i am giving away too much detail about the wedding, but i dont really mind. Id rather people know the colour theme etc so they can also plan around it, if that makes sense. Ive told people (apart from the OH) what kind of dress i have got in mind, but i think that is the part i will keep secret until the day.

I am finding it hard to keep it all in lol! I am trying my to say too much so I can keep the day a surprise but it's so hard! I just super excited. I just keep having to tell my myself it will be a better day if every one is surprised. But I think I will tell people my colour so they know not to where the same thing lol. Xx

im definatly letting people know the colour but the invites and save the date probably gave that away anyway. my mum, dad and step parents have both seen a pic of my dress but only my children were there when i got it and they are to young to tell anyone. my mum has seen a few decorations but im trying to keep everything else quiet so it will be a suprise for everyone. i do have a friend helping me with some decorations soon but ive hidden the ones i made with my mum so she hasnt seen everything. i also want things to be a suprise for my h2b so hes just letting me get on with it i think :)

I don't think there is any issue with telling her the colour :)

I don't mind at all about what people know about our wedding - the guests are just close friends and family so to me it feels natural to openly discuss our plans and ideas with them, if you know what I mean. xx
