Had my first appointment at a shop to try on dresses today. Some were nice, some were terrible. I have posted pics in my album of the dress I liked the most today. It is blue but I would get it in ivory and the dress maker would add straps as I don't 'do' strapless. They had the ivory in the shop and it was lovely but a size 10 so wouldn't go anywhere near my boobs! lol Anyhoo, I will go a few other places but probably end up back at this place as the lady was lovely and they were very helpful (even though I tore one of their underskirts catching my heel on it!) and there was no pressure...

I think you look great - although it looks like one dress only?
It may be that you don't feel comfortable in strapless or prefer straps, but you can defo 'do' strapless in this dress!! xx

Laura - I went for my first dress appointment as well today. Even though I'm from Leeds mine was at Wakefield. I'm glad you had a good time. I did and got an idea of different styles (I don't like strapless either lol) but the place I went wasn't very friendly or helpful. Can I ask where you went as I'm a bit stuck as where to try next..? (Could you post on my wall as don't think you can say on here).
That dress is really pretty. I tried on a blue dress too and it ended up being one of my faves. I ended up not going for it though, mainly because I couldn't quite envisage it in ivory. It's really difficult when you can't try on the exact dresses you want to, isn't it?

I went dress shopping too today!! To a shop I tried at the National Wedding SHow. They didnt have the same dress I tried on then but they had one even more gorgeous. It made me feel like a princess. Though it didnt make me cry, am I supposed to cry? I dont know how I know its the one!
How did people know it was the one??

Mym-posted to your wall :)
Hoxxyhula- I tried on a few but that was my favourite. Kizzy- I could at least see the ivory and it's lovely. Just need to loose a few more pounds (or two!!) and I might get into it!! lol

I didn't cry but my mum did well up a bit! Especially when I put on a veil! (I personally don't like veils though so won't be bothering!) :)

I went today and got my dress!!! I went to a few shops some were more helpful then others, but making a private appoinment is well worth it! I was in a shop last week with about 5 secondary school leavers trying on prom dresses.. it was hell on wheels! x
