Hi everyone!

So me and the OH have had a little dilemma..we've booked a UK venue and put a few deposits down, luckily our venue doesn't require a deposit so we haven't spent much money. We have started to look at weddings abroad and have discussed this with a few family members who also think it's a nice idea.
We don't have a massive budget, we probably have about 5k to spend on a 10-14day holiday and want a ceremony included on that. We can only afford to pay for ourselves and our son who we would like to join us for a few days for the actual wedding which OH's mum has agreed to.
We want a location that is within our budget and if our guests want to come out and stay then they can without having to spend a fortune. So really we need to be going to somewhere that it's overly far away, maybe 4hrs for the flight is really guna be the max.

Can any of you lovely ladies help me find a place to go that will cater for all of the above?! Has anyone done something similar?!
The budget is just for accommodation, flights, ceremony and package etc as we have other money for dress, suits, etc.
We want sun and sand and it would be from around the 9th August until the 23rd.

We've never looked into getting married abroad in much detail, but Greece seems to be really popular with those who do, particularly Rhodes. My step cousin got married in a lovely little chapel in Lindos, Rhodes - I didn't go, but from the pictures and the way everyone spoke about it, it was absolutely stunning.

I think there are a few wedding planners based in Rhodes as well, so you wouldn't need to take out a 'package'.. you could have someone do all the organising for you and make it really personal to you. :-)

Sorry I can't be much more help, but if I was to get married abroad that would be one of the first places I would consider! xx

If you want guaraneed sun and good prices the canaries is really your best bet. A few people I know have gotten married there and had a great time.

You could maybe get everyone to group together and hire out a villa?

I went to my cousins wedding in Sorrento and it was beautiful . There was quite a few people out there and due to location everyone was within 5 min walking distance of venue and places to meet , me and H2B were in the young hotel (as in relation ages in 20's ) and it was a good price .

Somehow always connected , finally became friends .

For a lot of weddings with Thomson, if u get enough family:/friends that will come along I.e generally 5rooms, you will get your wedding free anyway...it's definitely doable, you'd be looking around £3000 for holiday and wedding from an example of ones we've booked. X

Thanks for the advice ladies.

After a bit of soul searching i have made the decision to stay in the UK for our wedding and stick to our original date.
I spoke to my family and the possibility of everyone being there that i want is not going to happen and i really can't get married without the majority of my sisters there.
We have decided to have a lovely honeymoon around the end of December and use whatever money we get from guests as presents to put towards it :)
My OH is quite gutted as he isn't too bothered about family being there, aside from our parents, but i'm sure he'll get over it and start looking forward to our UK wedding instead.
