I voted for £200 but that would be my absolute maximum & that's pushing it!! I'm struggling with this for my hen too, I don't want to take the P!$$ & expect people to pay loads, I'm hoping to get a weekend all inclusive abroad for £200 max.

To be honest, it would very much depend on how close I was to the bride. My sister and best mate for example I'd happily spend £500. All other friends, depending on how close I was, say £100 and others I wouldn't go for a weekend and would only be prepared to spend £40 on an evening out (I don't drink).

This is why I had my Hen weekend "localky" where everyone could easily travel to so could travel from home or choose to stay in the hotel. I also got my sister and best mate to break up the weekend so people could choose to come to part or all of it depending on what they could afford and fit in so no one felt they wee obligated to pay more than they were comfortable with.

Because I don't drink I am more than happy just having a get together with the girls at my house for some fun and games and then a meal out at a nice restaurant :)
Unfortunately I am have limited say as BMs are being hush hush
They have very explicit instructions though. No bar crawling. No strippers.

To one person £200 may be too much to another person even £80 may be too much. I didnt have an away hen due to a few of my friends being mums and low incomes, i couldnt expect them to juggle their kids and i know some wouldnt be able to afford to go even for 1 night. If it was my very best friends hen i'd happily spend 200 -300, but if it was just a friend i'd probably not go. xxx

its not really something you can vote on, as what i may deem affordable may be too expensive OR too cheap to someone else.
You need to gauge the reactions from the people you will want to be forking out
My hen do weekend falls somewhere just above the middle of that list, so im told.
Wibbly wobbly, timey wimey

You know your friends better than us. You'll have an idea of their financial situation and family commitments.
If they're all single and earning big bucks then go for a blow out weekend but if they're on average salaries or lower salaries, maybe with family commitments then you may have to rethink what you do for your hen if it's important that particular people are there x

I've been on a few hens and I've never really come home without change from £100 so when I had mine I wanted to make it as cheap as poss for all, we went on a medieval banquet night and hotel stay over to a hotel 40mins up the motorway, the enitire weekend per person was £60 inc £5 donation to hen decorations... Personally I don't agree with expensive hens and stags but that's just me xxx
Ill marry my hero

Think the main thing for me is how close I am to the hen or where it is like . For example recently went to a wedding in Las Vegas knew other girls on hol more than the hen as know her through groom but the whole day cost over £500 most we paid in advance as group booking was cheaper but we also did a lot of stuff we would of done anyway so just did it on hen do instead however that cost at a home hen I think I would only be happy to pay if we were close :)
Somehow always connected , finally became friends .
Friends became soul mates :)

Everyone has different limits id pay a MAX of £300 for a weekend fri-sunday hen eating out both nights with breakfast lunch and a couple of activities. Last few times ive been to Newcastle including travel etc its cost about £300 in total that said it would depend on how close I was to the friends. For my best friends and my sister id quite happily send more than that

I think also that the last thing I wanted was for my friends to get upset with me for expecting them to spend so much on my Hen.
Girls appreciate it if the bride is considerate of their financial situations and any family commitments.
They also are likely to have to pay for transport to and from the wedding, possibly overnight accommodation for the wedding, a gift for the happy couple and possibly and new outfit. Attending a wedding as a guest can be really expensive and the stag/hen is another additional cost.

I put £150 but it really does depend on finances at the time of the hen do and also how close I was to the hen xxx

I've told my bm's and moh that it can't be more than £150.
I've found a huge barn that sleeps 15 and is about £90 for three nights pp in February, then maybe a cocktail master class one evening and takeaway. Then just fun and games.
I want to do,it this way to make it cheaper and more family friendly. Babies will be welcome if childcare is tricky xx

For my "young" hen night the current plan is to go to Bristol so will book travelodge fairly soon so will be cheaper advance rate, nice light meal out, drinks at some interesting pubs and cheesy dancing at reflex until the early hours. Hoping as we will be sharing rooms and petrol it will all work out to be fairly cost effective :)
The ladies afternoon for the others will probably end up being pricey as it will probably be champagne afternoon tea at my favourite 5 star hotel which is over the road from my mum's house. Now i sound posh!

It all depends on the people who you want to be there's financial situations really and how long they would have to save up the money (if that was possible to do) xxx

I personally said £80 due to my current circumstances, but everyone would be different. It would also depend on how close I was to the bride - if it was a close family member of friend then I would probably be willing to pay more (with plenty of notice). xx

I think it depends on how close you are to the hen and your own financial situation. My hen is about £154 pp without drink or travel, but I've still got (at the moment) 17 people up for going because they have 9 months to pay for it and is for the 90's weekend that they've all wanted to do themselves anyway. It's hard to use a voting tool on here to judge, best bet is to have a chat with the people you want to invite. That way you can get an idea of what is comfortable for the majority of people that want to attend. Also don't forget to mention it is for a hen do, we got an extra discount on my hen for booking in advance, in a large group and for it being a hen party :)

I went for £100. That's roughly how much it was for OH's Sister's hen weekend in Cambridge. We did chocolate tasting, meal out and an hour or so in a rubbish club on the Saturday and a punting trip on the river on the Sunday morning.
Beximo86 the organiser of OH's Sister's hen weekend struggled to find a hotel that would take us that didn't charge a fortune. Apparently as soon as she mentioned hen weekend the price went up or they wouldn't accept a block booking. We stayed in a Tr4v3lodge in the end and all ended up on different floors.
I had a conversation with my Mum earlier in the week about my hen. I'm not much of a party animal and have friends of various ages so I'd like something to cater for everybody. Also my Sister is pregnant again and due in December. She won't want to leave my new Niece/Nephew and I'm not keen on staying away from home so we can't do a night away. We're thinking of a themed night/tribute act at a local hotel.
