I'm a year and a day before you (23rd October 2014)... it seems to be an odd time of the year so I've given up on finding a wedding twinny.

People keep telling me it's a strange time of year to get married but I think its nice, I love Autumn. Not long until your big day now, are you getting excited? :) xx

It still doesn't feel real yet - I'm sure it'll hit me before the day though. My Mum is still trying to get us to change the date but we're not having it. I think she always imagined us having a summer wedding whereas we said from the start that if we ever got married it was going to be on our 10th anniversary. I think Autumn is a great time of year for wedding photos because of the wonderful array of colours on the trees - yes, you have to cross your fingers when it comes to the weather, but that can be said of any season in this country. How are your plans coming along?

Its hard not listening to relatives but you have to, this is not going to happen for us again I've had trouble with relatives. I bet it won't feel real until the actual day I'll probably be the same. You can get some pretty umbrellas designed for weddings now, you could make them part of your pictures if need be, your wedding pictures would be quite unique. Google rainy day wedding photos there are some good ones out there. I have got the majority of it down, it's only really my dress and the bridesmaid dresses I need to sort, I've given everyone until January to get to the size they want as they all said they want to lose weight before. Are you all set?
We've got most things sorted but just need to finalise a few details with venue and photographer. Everyone keeps asking how we're so laid back about it all and its because there's not much to do until the day before which is probably why it doesn't feel real yet. The BM outfits were the first thing I bought but we're having sarees so it doesn't matter if anyone gains or loses weight. I'd recommend getting the dresses in the Jan sale (if possible) in the size they are now and then setting some of the budget aside for alterations so there's no last minute panic after a summer holiday binge.

I am getting married the week before on the 16th October. We have both been married before, OH was in March and I was in September so both those months were out anyway. Then we only have OH kids in the holidays so that narrowed it down to Christmas, easter, summer or October holidays. We did not want Christmas as OH and eldest stepson both have birthdays in December, Easter is the twins birthday usually, Summer was a no no as I hate the heat and could not think of anything worse than getting married on a hot day. So October it was, plus there is nothing else in October so we can remember October for our wedding.
