i have a slight predicament, about 3 years ago my dad left my mum, its caused alot of tension between him and my eldest brother (not his real dad). basically my bro now hates my dad!!
My dad isnt the greatest in the world for what he has done to my mum but he is still my dad, mum seems fine about it now and is even on speaking terms with dad again. thing is my bro asked me if he could walk me down the ailse seeing as he has been my father figure while dad done a runner when we were young (all very complicated). My dad obviously thinks that he is walking me down the ailse, because thats the tradition. now my bro says if i let hm do it he will pay for over half my wedding!!!!!!!! bribary i know but the money would be handy, and he knows it.
I really dont know what to do about it. i was thinking of just walking down on my own or even with my mum but she said no coz she is far to timid for that malarky.
    Help please xxxxxx

What i am doing is letting my sister walk me down the aisle as she is the one who has been there for me the most and thru everything she is the one i could turn to, i did think about asking my brother but there is 2 things that bother me about him doing it 1 he hasnt spoke to me for over a year even tho he lives over the road and 2 he turned up in combats to my sisters wedding! and my dad is still alive but he left when i was 5 years old and has made no effort to get to know me the last time i saw him it was so he could give me something for my sister and he made it obvious he was only there to give me the thing for my sister, i would suggest you pick who you want to do it and not who you feel you should let do it

My mum's walking me down the aisle.

My bio dad is a jacka ss, he assumed he'd be doing it and I told him to assume again. He's not there in the capacity of FOB, that is going to Pops (stepdad) who has been more of a dad to me in 6 years than my bio dad has been in 29 years! But, I thought that might be a bit of a snub to my mum who, in fairness, is the one who has brought me up from birth and the only one "qualified" to give me away.

So your mum is always an option :)

    It's right what they say
"The course of true love never runs smoothly"
But if it had been easy then we wouldn't love each other as
much as we do right now - 1 week to go :D

I like the idea of both of them walking you down but if you dont see that working who would you WANT you to walk you down???
If its your dad, as he is your dad no matter what the past then have him do it.
If its your brother because your closer to him, as your dad walked out then have him.
You have to listen to your heart on this one babe.

Money doesnt come into it in my opinon and is a very nasty bribery tactic on your brothers part :-(

I don't speak to my dad.. so my mum is walking me down the isle :)

You have who YOU want... it's your day and I'm sure your family would/should understand your feelings on this :)

Personally I think your brother has got a nerve bribing you like that! And for that reason I would ask my dad but of course it is down to you hun! You have got 22 months to make this decision so I wouldn't be worrying about it now!
