Hi ladies, I'm really starting to get stressed out about my hen night! I get married in a little over 5 months time and everyone keeps asking what I'm doing for my hen night. The problem is I have no idea what to do. I very rarely drink and when I do I only have the 1 or 2. So I'm finding it very very difficult to come up with some ideas on what to do. I'm having a mix of people of all ages and backgrounds so I know I'm not going to please everyone although I'm quite happy to do pretty much anything as I'm very easy going though :) Do any of you lovely ladies have any ideas/suggestions for a hen night? P.s I live near Glasgow town centre so not limited on places to go. Thank you!

What about the snow boarding lessons or the climbing wall at Braehead? Thats something different, where you dont really need to drink! I dont drink all that much or often, and my hen do is a week on Thursday and is a quiz night down our local pub lol

Oh I never thought of the climbing wall :). I'm just finding it so difficult for something for everyone to do. I was at a friend's hen last night at the cabaret in Glasgow and it was a fantastic night but I don't want to be seen as a "copycat" lol. Hope you enjoy your hen and hopefully win :)

Hey! I don't live any where near Glasgow so can't suggest places to go. but I can suggest something to do that's dosnt involve that much alcohol. If u have a place to go u could have a 'aldults kids party'. U could have games like parse the parcel but put something like a braclet or something fun in the middle. U could do a 'pin the tale on the man'. U can adapt kids party games for adults. It will be fun and most people should love it :). X

Oooooh I went to see Club Noir Burlesque for a hen night once in Glasgow and was fantastic, seen them perform in Dundee as well. Anyway back on target. Is your bridesmaids not organising this for you? (I have been - rather forcefully - advised I have only slight say in what my hen night will be but they are taking control essentially) I don't drink much either and if I do not much beyond 2-3 glasses so a bar crawl is not an option. What about a food tasting experience? Nothing stopping you staying at home with all the ladies or having a good night playing games and having a good laugh? Or quad biking? Paint balling? (You could do a less painful take by throwing paint filled balloons instead)

I wanted to do something for everyone so did a few different things in one day and told people to come to the nits they wanted to. we went to a spa, had afternoon tea, and then went out in the evening

I'm not sure what to do either. I don't want anything tacky, I'm not keen on bars/clubs. My partners aunt is keen on organising the tackiest of tackiest hen do - I do not think so! My aunt suggested a spa day but that's not me either. I know it's boring but I'm happy with just dinner and drinks then that way a range of people will enjoy themselves. Went to a Turkish restaurant before where they had a belly dancer as entertainment and you could also join in so I'd maybe be interested in doing something like that.

I did a weekend which my bridesmaids organised. We had a girls night out with dinner, drinks and dancing (your typical hen night really) Then we stayed the night in a hotel (only some of us) and the following day had a spa day. This way everyone could come to the bits they wanted to and could afford. I'm tee total but still enjoyed my night out and loved the spa day. Maybe you could do something similar?
One friend for her hen night had a belly dancing class in a room hired at a pub then we just went on for dinner. That was nice, then people drink as much or as little as they like.

My mum is organising my hen night for me as one of my BM's lives over an hours drive away and my other BM is doing other bits and pieces for me so I don't to bundle everything onto her. I just wanted to gather some ideas on what I'd be interested in doing so I can let my mum know, I doubt she would organise something I would hate but it's just to be sure lol. You can get chocolate making classes, that might suit everyone. I'd imagine there would be places all over the country that would do it. Or you could just have a meal out together, it doesn't have to be big or complicated. I've found somewhere near me in Cardiff that does cheese and wine tasting sessions.

I don't live anywhere near you so don't know the area you live but thought if you have a mixed bag of ages maybe greyhound racing. Most race tracks do food and drink and you can make a good night of it as it's for all ages. I had my hen night over a week ago and we went for a meal so family and friends who do not drink or go clubbing were involved. We all meet at 7pm. Had a lovely meal then those who didn't go on to club made their way home while the rest of us got a minibus at 10pm to go to a local club . Every one was involved. Around 20 of us .

Can I suggest ten pin bowling? The Quay has a good bowling alley (can't remember what its called) - not cheap but its great fun - but book in advance. If you are looking for burlesque there are a number of different places do it in Glasgow. Or if you guys want to learn it I think there is a place at Ruthven Lane off Byres Road. I would have a look on the glasgow city council website for events in Glasgow... as there may be some events running that you could go along to (for example I think the Magners comedy Festival is around then). If you fancy comedy a number of pubs do it or there are comedy clubs 1) near the cinema at West Nile Street and 2) In the west end just off great western road. Loads of pubs have live band nights at the weekend. There are places on bath street that hire out private rooms for the likes of hen nights and karaoke rooms. If you want to live life on a different track - how about going ape? Lots of places in Glasgow also offer spa days. How about a group dancing lesson? Ice skating? Archery lessons out at Mugdock Park? An alternative for a group that hasn't been drinking beforehand - firewalking (see Tir na Nog at Balfunning). Night out at a casino? And if you are really brave - go on a ghost hunt!
