Hi ladies Is anyone else finding table planning real headache? Our venue sits 60, but that is split over 3 rooms as its a restaurant/wine bar. 1 room seats 28/29 - main restaurant, theres a smaller restaurant room which will sit 16, and then we can have a "t" shaped table on the dance floor which will sit another 16 (this will be removed after the meal to make space for the dancing!) Originally we were going to use this "T" shape as the top table, and then have the bridal party with us. Problem is my MOH has a 9 month old, and my H2B brother's will have a 2 week old (i know!) and we didnt want babies in that room so that would mean splitting them up from their partners. We met with the wedding planner yesterday and she suggested we sit in the main dining area (28/29 seats), which my H2B likes the idea of. The tables will be in a "U" shape. I have used the wedding table tool on this site to try and arrange guests but I am finding it so hard : people will want to sit with those they know, partners need to stay together, plus theres a few singles. Will people be miffed if they are not in the room with the Bride and Groom?? if only we could just have the round tables it would be so much easier! lol
so wondering if anyone else has an "alternative" seating plan spread over various rooms?

wow sounds so complicated - I've never heard of it being spread over several rooms, how strange. if you're finding it too much of a headache maybe just organise the people you want in the room with you and let everyone else find a seat in the other rooms? good luck

Not in seperate rooms but we do have 4 tables on the floor above, on a balcony area overlooking the main room. We chose not to have a top table and will be sitting on a round table on the balcony bit, along with the rest of the bridal party (all the BMs and their partners on one table, all the groomsmen and their partners on another etc) with the rest of the guests in the main area. I don't think people will mind/care if they can't see us throughout the meal as they'll (hopefully) be engaged in conversations with the people next to them and be too engrosed in eating the horrendously over-priced food. If you would prefer round tables would the budget stretch to hiring some in for the day?

Do the rooms have 'dividers' that can be moved to make it into one big room? I agree with what Danielle. Organise who you would like in the room with you and let everyone else find themselves a seat.
Good luck!

Thanks. No it's a restaurant, so the main room has fixed seating in a U shape then there's a doorway into a smaller area which is also set out in a U shape. Then to accommodate the extra 16 we have to have tables in the bar / dance floor bit. Round tables won't fit am afraid. Such fun! X
