Sorry not much help but I just g00gled 'Rome weddings' and loads of destination wedding websites came up. Have you tried contacting them for more in depth advice?

I love Rome! We went there for my birthday last year. We got married in Las Vegas so can't really help with Rome, but general stuff about weddings abroad I might be able to help with. Feel free to add me as a friend and ask away!

I have emailed one woman that I found online and that has good reviews, those of you that married abroad, did you use a travel agent over here to organise it or a wedding planner in the country that you got married in? x

I'm a travel agent ... If ur not sure what you're doing definitely go through a well know reputable company like Thomson where I work as at least you know your money is secure and they can give you lots of advice too x

We booked our flights and hotel for Vegas through an agent here in the UK. I sourced everything else - the chapel, the honeymoon hotels (we hired a harley and drove up to the Grand Canyon and back, over 5 days), the hair and make up lady, the hen night show tickets and the limo company.
I could never have done it without the power of the internet though LOL!

Knowing my luck if I organised it myself something would go wrong! haha. We are going to go to a travel agents in the week when we both have a day off together, only we've tried to look online but the most common travel agents don't seem to do weddings in Rome, it's more beach weddings in Cyprus and the likes. x

You can book your wedding venue etc in italy whenever you want but you can't sort the legal side of things more than 6 months before your wedding day. You also have to be in Italy for at least 4 workings days before the wedding day. There is quite a bit more legal stuff you need to be aware of. If you g00gl3 it, there's more info on the gov website, but it is possible to organise it yourself. Having someone who can speak italian will help

Roxanne, we're in the process of booking our wedding in Rome for June/July 2015. A friend from work did this a few years ago and thoroughly recommended. She gave me the details of her wedding planner who is helping us to organise ours. We're getting married in the Sala Rossa in the Campidoglio and are currently looking at venues for the reception just now, mainly in hotels and restaurants. It's all a bit daunting but I think it's reassured us to have someone to chat to who has done it before.
