We received out contract to sign and send back to our venue re. Hotel rate, no of rooms reserved and the code guests ring up with. The problem is, in my final meeting with my contact at the venue I asked if it were possible for us to reserve 25 rooms instead of 20 as my partners family and guests are all coming from 100 miles away plus my guests who will stay I think we will be looking at at least 25. The girl said yes it was possible and that was that, we paid the deposit and away we go. Problem is now we have the reservation confirmation it only says 20 so I contacted the girl asking what would happen if more than 20 were booked, would the code given be enough to still get them the same rates. She forwarded it on to the reservations team who basically said no, after the intial 20 it depends on how busy the hotel is and that they couldn't reserve more than 20. I feel totally cheated by this and not sure how to approach. To make matters worse, I went on their website and he rate currently offered for the date of our wedding is cheaper than the price we are guaranteed! I spoke to my dad and basically said what if he and my mum, and my brothers all booked their rooms at that rate through their website and not used the reserved rooms but he thinks I should bring it up withthevenue. My concern is they will just up the price online for the night if they know that's what we're doing

    What would you do?

Should those 3 rooms be booked before I bring it up or risk it until I've asked?

Hi, If the rates are no cancellation fee I would book the rooms at todays rates and then bring it up with the venue possibly. My venue has 19 rooms and I have already booked 11 just for direct people i.e. parents, sibling, gparents and bridal party. Is there a hotel nearby that people have the option of staying in just in case that your venue is over their price bracket?

get them to book the rooms now at the cheaper price, hotels are always trying to cut corners and up the price! If i were the venue though, i would be happy for reservation for an extra five rooms, guaranteed money for them as they never know who else might turn up on that particular date!
