I bought mine just under a year before. I think 14 months is a great time to start looking- as long as you are ready for it!

I just bought mine yesterday and I've got 15.5 months to go
It's right what they say
"The course of true love never runs smoothly"
But if it had been easy then we wouldn't love each other as
much as we do right now - 1 week to go :D
never too soon, i tried mine on a month ago, just got to save the deposit now :)x
I have know my soulmate for 27 years and on the 6th August
I married him and became Mrs Garnham.
It was most definitely the happiest day of my life.
I love married life !!!!

I bought mine in January this year, i only went in with the intention of looking, only tried one on and said i'll have it!! I'm just waiting now until a bit later in the year to have my alterations done to the neck and back, then will only need to have the length adjusted grrr to being a short fry! x

I think its not a case of how early - i got mine in sept 09 and i get married in april 2011 - but a case of dont leave it too late dresses take up to 5 months to be made.x

I agree with whoever said it's about the right time to start looking - sometimes these things can take a while to be made, and you need to sort out all the alterations and stuff.
If you start now you can make sure you've looked at everything you want to look at before buying, instead of working to a deadline.

It's all about how you feel. I was terrified about dress shopping so left it til last and only ordered it about a month ago. It's made to measure and I'm not even being measured until May. Don't rush yourself and try on as many as feels right. It's more important you get the right one than it is to get it any more than 6 months before the big day.
Good luck!

I've started looking now and dont get married for 2 years! Wont be buying anything till late summer because I'm dieting in a big way...but as soon as I hit my targetI'm going to put a deposit down on a dress so I have to keep to that target weight!!!
CommentAuthorRebecca
it usually takes 6 months for the dress to be made and then arrive to the shop. but you have plenty of time to look around and find one you like! a lot of shops will let you pay off a little bit of every month so you're not having to pay a big chunk of money out all in one go. that's what we did! x
CommentAuthorKesha
I bought mine with 15 months to go, It came into the shop last week with only 4 months to go! it took 11 months to come in, so dont leave it til the last minute. Word of advice, once youve chosen the dress, do not keep looking! new dresses come out every season, but if you keep looking, you are setting yourself up for failure!

Im getting married in 25 months and i ordered it last week i thort its better to pay for things we need early and spread are budget x
CommentAuthorMRS WILKINSON
kesha - was your dress made to measure?- no dress takes that long like i said above at the max it take 5/6months for the dress to arrive into the shop ( me and my mum have a bridal shop) the only thing i can think of was they didnt order your dress untill nearer the time or it was a made to neasure dress.xx

never too early to get ur dress mines took 10months to come into the shop soo i wouldnt leave it much longer sometimes it can be hard too pick a dress as well u dnt want to rush ur decision hope this helps.xx

I started payin for mine 6 months ago...approx a year before wedding date! Personally I think the sooner you start the better as theres so much to pay for! Only problem is dont rush into making a decision too quickly or you might see something else later on and regret it! xxx
CommentAuthortrouble78
Wow my head is about to explode, theres so much to take in. Going to make a start next week i think i know what im like and will probably take me the next 14months to find one lol.
