Hi everyone .. I had occasion make up done for a wedding on Saturday by the artist that's doing my make up for my big day and I absolutely hated it , everything was wrong from the colour of the foundation she used . I felt like an over painted china doll . Question is do I forfeit the deposit I've paid her already and find someone else or do I pay her more money for another trial to see if she can get it right ?

Hhhmmm, I would probably go elsewhere. Did you pay a big deposit? Did you tell her you didn't like it? Maybe she will come to some sort of arrangement to try again at a lower price if you tell her you didn't like it at all? This is exactly why I'm doing my own make-up - I put make-up on everyday without a problem so don't see why my wedding day would be any different. I've had my make-up done before by "professionals" and have never liked it or felt natural enough. I would see what she says hun xx

I would call her and say you didn't like it and arrange another trial. If you still don't like it tell her there and then so she can do it all over again until she creates a look you're happy with.

I agree with showgirl- do not let her leave without you being happy with what she has done! Make sure she doesn't charge you extra too- afterall you are paying for a service and igf it is not right then you shouldn't be chraged extra!
Have you thought about maybe providing your own foundation? I am incredibly pale and so my make up artist said straight away that she doesn't have a foundation suitable for me- She suggested D10r forever and told me to go and get a few testers- I did and we trialed them until we found one suitable.

I disagree with Showgirl. She should have got it right (or more or less right) the first time round. I would go somewhere else. I have had 5 and hated them all, so I'm doing my own
Have you had a trial specifically for your wedding? I would say have a trial and explain what you didn't like about your previous make-up. She should be able to do something different. If you're not happy after that, then go elsewhere.

I would call her and ask for anougher trile. Just tell her the truth ask her to be a little lighter on the make up this time. If u don't like it the 2nd time maby u should go for some one else. X

I think it's always worth giving them a second chance- that's the whole point of a trial. Also agree with Elinor- Wedding make up is very different to occasion make up

Speak to her and get another trial and tell her what you didn't like. You are paying her therefore you should get what you want from her.
