Should evening guests be given save the dates? Our original plan was to have 100 people for the full day but now we have written a list we have too many people to do this so are going to have extra at night. I'm not sure what the etiquette is for this though

I suppose it depends- are they people you really really want there? We sent no save the dates and we havent sent out our invites yet- bit late. But to the day we are having close family (60) aunts uncles and close friends etc and to the evening a further 60 friends and cousins. Everyone who matters and is crucial knows by word of mouth and me harping on about the day.

I would say no to Save the Dates for evening guests...especially if your wedding doesn't fall on a weekend...xx

I would probably say no to save the dates too - it might make them think they are coming to the day do!? If there is anyone special you want there just for the evening I would probably just tell them to keep that evening free xx

You can send them a slightly different 'save the evening' one, as if I were to get a save the date I would presume I was getting invited to the whole day event.
Met June 2009 on my Birthday,Met again July 2009 and got
together, May 2010 Moved in,Jan 2011 got pregnant,
August 2011 Got our own place, 2011 Had our Baby Girl,
Dec 2011 Got engaged, July 2015 Getting married! Yay!

Ive been thinking the same thing! As we are getting married in June next year, our save the dates need to go out pretty soon. With the time of year we are getting married, alot of people we have spoken to already have said they are glad we have told them now as book their holidays for around the same time. So im thinking about sending out save the evening of..... then on their evening invites mentioning twhere the ceremony will be if they would like to attend. Reason being our venue isnt big enough and we simply cant afford to have all the evening guests plus day time guests there x
