I know traditionally many people go on honeymoon a couple days after the wedding, do you think this ruins the funof getting married if you were to have one a year later just because you cant afford one
CommentAuthorMrsH
Not at all. There's nothing to stop you going on a mini weekend break somewhere and then having a big honeymoon the year after.
We were initially going to wait a year but then managed to save quite a lot and decided to go 3 days after the wedding.

Aw, minimoon sounds lovely! My friends took their kids on a familymoon which I thought was lovely!

we aren't going straight away, we want to enjoy being back in the UK and being married for a little while before we go away again! that means we can save up a bit more and we don't have to hold back on enjoying our honeymoon...might book a little weekend away nearer the time :) xx

We are going on a familymoon the day after the wedding (c*ntre p*rcs for a week which will include Christmas Day!) and then my mum is moving in for 10 days 2 months later to look after the girls and we are going on our honeymoon to Thailand and Borneo! You do whatever is right for you, I would rather save/wait and go somewhere special or meaningful to me than go cheap and cheerful a few days after the wedding! Everybody has different views - no right answer in my book!

My H2B wanted to wait really but because of the school holidays (im a teacher) we decided to go for it a few days after the wedding. I do think the whole thing is going to be a bit of a whirlwind and I am dreading the wedding week really. We live in Sussex and are getting married in Lancashire on the Saturday so will have to travel up in the week before the wedding, my dad has to drive down the weekend before to collect my dress, we are staying at a local hotel again on the Sunday night and have to get back for an early Gatwick flight on the Tuesday. Phew!
