    Hey all!
We are having a Cival Cerimoney, and I know your not allowed a religious reading or hyms, but how far does that extend? My mum got married in a church and each of her bridesmaids had a white bible with gold trim on the page edges. I have owned one of these since I was a little girl. I read it a bit when I was getting bullied in school. I thought it would be a really nice touch for the page boy to present the rings on this bible rather than a cushion. Would that be allowed? mum says I wouldn't be allowed to. It's hardly a deal breaker or anything, I just think it will be a nice full circle kind of thing.

I don't think that would be allowed, you could always have the photographer take some picks before with the rings in it, or after the ceremony, but they would not allow the page boy to present them on a bible during the ceremony.

It could seem hypocritical to have religious "paraphernalia" and not actually get married in a place of worship. As it's a civil ceremony, I'm pretty sure you're not allowed. But the best person to ask isn't us, but the registrar and place where you're getting married.

I doubt very much it'll be allowed but double check with the registrar. Civil ceremonies won't allow anything religious involved in them at all.
