    Hiya folks. I'm gluten intolerant and I'm wondering if it's wrong for me to have the whole menu suitable for me? My H2b eats GF foods at home, as do my sons ( just to save possible cross contamination ) when I've mentioned this thought to others they've pulled face & say I shouldn't restrict the options :/ I just want to be able to eat any think (at my wedding!) without wondering if I'm going to be ill :(
    I work in catering & I no most menus can be altered easily to be GF with a bit prior planning.
    Thoughts please ;)

    I agree, have it to suit you. Maybe don't even mention it to other people. I'm sure noone would notice.

    It's your day and like you say you wouldn't want to worry about eating the wrong thing and making yourself ill.

    I agree with the above posters, I wouldn't want to worrying about eating something that would make me sick. I can't eat red meet so there will be none of it, do what suits you :)

    I'm a GF bride to!! & We're having a completely GF day!!
    The wedding cakes going to be GF (my sister as mastered them & they are even nicer than normal cakes, no one can tell the difference), my fiance's favourite meal is naturally GF too so were having Potato skins (bacon& cheese/Cheese & onion veggie), gammon & chips followed by Creme brulé. Its fail safe for bulk & who doesn't love gammon??
    We cant do alot about the evening buffet but personally i never notice its even served at weddings normally.

    You have to have what you want & most importantly you have to make it safe for yourself :) Do it right & people wont even notice xxx

    I'm a gf bride as well we are having a gf day as well I just haven't told anyone and when it has been mentioned h2b has just said its only wifeys that has been catered for and I'm making are wedding cake and even had the buffet at the evening catered for it as well. Just don't tell them and they won't know doesn't taste any different x

    I don't see an issue.

    We have a coeliac guest, so, unknown to most of our guests, a lot of our menu is gluten-free eg 2 out of 4 canapes are GF, we have 2 GF starters (melon with parma ham and tomato soup), 3 GF mains (chicken breast with a leek, mushroom and pancetta risotto; steak with sauteed potatoes and wilted spinach; and salmon fillet with spring-onion and herb crushed potatoes), and 2 GF desserts (chocolate delice with fresh raspberries and raspberry coulis, and exotic fruit salad).

    We're also having 12 GF cup-cakes along with our 4 tier regular wedding cake.

    In short: I don't see a problem, and I doubt many guests will notice (apart from the cake; I'm afraid I'm not a fan of GF cakes and can def tell the difference!)

    we are having everything GF too as my hubby 2b is severely allergic to even a trace of the dreaded stuff, absolutely everything will be gluten free cos its his day and i dont want him getting ill, if people dont like it then can pop to a drive thru on the way home! xx

    It's your wedding, do what suits you best. If you go for a whole gf menu at least you then know that there will be no mishaps. This really annoys me when people turn their noses up, it's not like they are paying for it, they are getting a free meal from it, they should be grateful they have even been invited.

    Go for it.

    I'm gluten free and there was about 6 of us that we're gf, I just got the chef at my reception to make a gf alternative to all the courses and the buffet on the evening x

    I don't think people would even notice the difference! An guest of mine is coeliac, the hotel are just making allowances for her and my cake maker is doing a gluten free to player of our cheesecake so she has the same food as everyone else. Xx

    When I first read your post I was like no way can you have a full GF menu BUT ididnt realise that there is loads of different things that GF eat that I actually eat just now so with that I would say Just go with your completely GF menu and just don't tell your guests they wont know the difference xx

    I'm the only coeliac at our wedding, and as such am having a different meal to everyone else if the venue can't do the standard menu choices gluten free (yet to be confirmed). It helps keep our costs down tbh by having a standard menu. To help prevent cross contamination, I'm taking my own food for the evening buffet (plated up and wrapped in cling film).
    The guests can eat as much gluten as they like - doesn't bother me. However, all sweets for the sweetie table are gluten free (potential source of cc issues avoided there), and I'm making a little kit for my hubby, which will have a toothbrush and mouthwash for after he's eaten so he can kiss me :-)
    He doesn't drink beer, so no potential for being glutened by drink.

    However - I did order some "bride", "groom" and other wedding party members wine glass charms - this will help prevent people from accidentally drinking from your glass with a gluteny mouth

    Oh, and the cake we'll cut is gluten free - there will be normal cake cutting bars (and therefore a different shape) being kept in the kitchen for those who want cake.

    We've got two gf guests at the day, and a few at the evening. We can't do anything about the evening buffet other than make sure that everything is clearly labelled. For the day we choose a set menu, and I was surprised by how much of it appeared gf. We will choose what we want for most people as we're supposed to have a set menu, but we realised looking at it that our preferred starter and dessert options are gf anyway. I think everyone will like a gf option.

    We have a guest who has coeliacs diesease, so I have just made the venue aware. His meal will be gluten free
