    Hi everyone

Now, a bit of info : I don't like flying AT ALL. Neither does my OH, but we have decided we might make an exception and see if we can get on a plane for our honeymoon, as we'd like to go a bit further afield than Europe (it may involve medication from the doctor and/or copies amounts of vodka, ha!).

    I digress...

Because of the flying business, neither me or OH are massive foreign travellers, and don't really know the best time to book a honeymoon. Are they cheaper to book early on, or is it best to wait for a late deal? We have no idea where we'd like to go as yet, and I am guessing this will make a difference on my question.

Any advice on nervous flying, deals on honeymoons or recommended destinations are hugely welcome :)

Hi Shelley, I believe holidays are best to book as early as poss, 2015 holidays go on sale 24th April 2014, or as late as poss couple week before you want to fly, sorry i cant be of any more help, hope you manage to over come your nerves and book a great honeymoon x

The prices go up and down all the time if you can avoid booking during school holiday as prices are usually higher
It might also be worth speaking to your doctor about flying I know someone who gets something to help with it from the docs

I am planning visiting the doctor for something, which I hope will allow me to fly. A cousin of mine takes a couple of tablets and is on cloud 9 for hours which allows hr enough time to get somewhere tropical!

Indreamland - we have thought about a cruise. The only problem is that we are limited to 7-10 day holiday absolute maximum, and don't think we'd be able to get far away enough and back in time. We got a few cruise brochures and found we were limited to Europe really. Also neither of us has been on a cruise before, and Im a bit worried if we didn't like it, we'd be a bit stuffed! I am thinking of a possible mini-cruise for my hen, which might be a good taster if we haven't booked our honeymoon by then.

Thanks for the replies ladies :)

My mum takes something from the doctor to help her fly and she swears by it :) really calms her nerves. She even got talking to Bob Hope from Emmerdale on one flight because they had relaxed her so much (she wouldn't have gone up to talk to him if she'd seen him on the street usually, she's so shy)

I tend to book about a year in advance, and find prices are usually good then; they typically rise then until you get very last-minute, which I'm not keen on unless it's a short short-haul break.

As far as where to go goes, I LOVE Mexico, and it's doable for a 10 night trip. You could also look at the Cape Verde islands, as well as Morocco and Egypt if you want to go somewhere outside Europe but not as far afield as the Caribbean.

Oh thanks for this Barbie. I will start seriously looking in a couple of months.

I had a quick look at the Cape Verde islands a few weeks ago, but OH didn't seem keen. TBH, I think we're just a bit overwhelmed with all the luxurious places on offer when you're honeymooning :)

OH has been to the Caribbean, and would definitely go again. Just need to drug us both up to the eyeballs to get on the plane now!

OH would love to go to Italy, along the Amalfi coast. I fancy this idea too, but can't help thinking Im missing out on sheer luxury and white sands somewhere...
