Hi ladies. I'm in need of advice. My mum and grandma have paid for most of my wedding so far and continuing to do so (as a gift to me) but because my dad has 4 other daughters I asked him to help me out with their outfits (shoes only) as I am buying 6 bridesmaid dresses and it gets expensive. My mum thinks I should ask him for another contribution towards the venue as he's my dad (tradition) but he's tight. I don't wanna fall out with him (he's not been there for me growing up). I have asked my km to walk me down the aisle as she has raised me along for 24 years. He's expecting to do it... what should I do about the situation?

    Sorry for the rant!

I don't think you should ask him at all you shouldn't expect anyone to pay for your wedding
My mum and stepdad are paying for my photographer but they offered first
My dad won't pay for anything I haven't asked him and he won't offer
I wouldn't dream of asking him xx

I wouldnt ask. If he was going to help pay he would have offered. I wouldnt mention walking down the isle either. If he asks then just say your mum is doing it. You could always mention it in conversation that she is doing it so he doesnt turn up expecting to take the role but either way i wouldnt make an issue of it.

i personally wouldn't ask for him to pay for anything but would definitely have a conversation with him about your mum walking you down the aisle if it doesn't get mentioned now and he turns up expecting it then it could cause an awkward atmosphere for the rest of the day xx
