Hey everyone, i just need to get this off my chest i think as i'm feeling really down.

I'm starting to feel like i don't want a hen-do. At the minute only 5 people can make it and that includes the 2 mums. I just dont know what to do? It probably shouldn't but what's making it worse is my H2B is having a surprise weekend (Friday-Sunday) organised by his best man to Dublin with a load of his mates. As he is making a weekend of it, i feel like I have to as well. I don't want to be sitting in the house on my own worrying about him! I know i'm probably being really immature. It just makes me realise that I dont have many girl friends and i've always said to my fiance that this is the bit i'm most worried about.

Any ideas what I could do? how to make myself feel better? haha

I'm a bit worried how mine will go too as I don't have many girlfriends either as I find them too bitchy and behind your back
Can you not have the small hen do and the day after have a bit of pampering with a close friend/bridesmaid/mum? X

You could maybe do something which is better with a smaller group such as a weekend spa break (the mums will probably prefer that) or an activity of some kind. Just do something that you enjoy doing and make the hen do about you and what you want rather than a manic occasion with lots of people :)

I agree, something like a spa break sounds like a better option. For part of my hen do, me, my sister and my mum went to a day spa and we had a great time so I'd definitely recommend it

The greatest thing you'll ever learn
is just to love and be loved in return

I'm the same! Booking an Afternoon tea is a nice idea for a small group :)

Have a lovely weekend with the 5 you have, either go for a spa weekend or just have a weekend with lots of treats like a spa trip, afternoon tea, a few drinks in the afternoons/evenings?

I'm the same, I don't really want a proper 'hen' night as all of my closest friends are guys! I have a couple of female friends I'd say I'm pretty close with but nothing like how I am with the boys! Therefore, I'm just having a big night out with all my good friends the weekend before the wedding, then a couple of days before the wedding I am going to have a spa day with my sister and neices (my 3 bridesmaids), my mum, aunt and probably my OH's mum as well. I'd say just focus on enjoying it with the nearest and dearest, having fun before the big day rather than worrying that it isn't like a traditional hen night :) I'm sure you'll still enjoy it so much you won't even be thinking about what your OH is up to! :)

Definitely agree with the above comments - don't feel under pressure to have a traditional hen do or to have loads of people. My hen do will be quite small (have invited about 7 but not sure if they can all make it) but there were others that I considered inviting until I realised I would feel more comfortable with just my closest friends. There are lots of easy ways to make it into a weekend without having to plan/pay loads - as people mentioned, a spa day, going somewhere nice for lunch or afternoon tea one day, having some drinks in the evening etc. The most important thing is that you enjoy yourself so just be honest with yourself and your hens about what you want.

aw hun, i hear ya, my nose gets out of joint on occasion knowing hes going to Ibiza for 5 days and im staying in the UK. its reminded me how few girlfriends i have too!

i have considered SO many times just sodding it off altogether and in the end, i left it up to the bms, or i would have. and i know i would of regretted it. 5 people or 25 people, im sure you will have a blast. im FINALLY really excited about mine, and im so glad i passed over the reigns and its still going ahead. try not to lose heart.
