Well got a few rsvp's back today, turns out my mum and nan not coming, her reason was "dont really know, dont think things are right yet!" ( we fell out about 3-4 years ago so only been minimal contact until a year ago when i thought i'd better be the first to make an effort so sent cards, texts, took my daughter up who she never met to meet her etc) theres more to the story of the fall out, kinda knew she wouldnt come but getting the text off her saying thanks for the invite but im not coming hit bit harder than i thought it would. Its looking like i'll have 1 family member coming from my mums side :/ and 1 family from me dads side, sorry bout the downer post just feeling bit meh x

I dont think i want him to do that to be honest, i've tried to make an effort with her but just hitting a brick wall, i think the real reason shes not coming is because i didnt invite her partner, you would of thought if she wanted to make the effort she would come and be proud of me, show me off thats my daughter etc if that makes sense, sorry that many words going round in me head not sure if using the right ones and making sense lol x

That's ok lol. I think it's pretty horrid to turn down a wedding invitation from your own daughter, I mean I know my Mum doesn't always approve of my choice but I know that she come and is starting to get interested. I feel for you as every girl wants their Mum there in general.. It's her loss though and she'll regret it in the future! You'll have a lovely day and enjoy marrying your beloved :) xx

I'm so sorry your Mum won't be coming to your wedding. Have you had much face to face contact with her, just the two of you since starting to patch things up? I can see how she might feel its awkward if she doesn't really have a relationship with any other guest going and may feel a bit 'isolated', especially if everyone else knows the history between you. I personally wouldn't let that stop me from attending a wedding let alone that of a family member but I'm just trying to understand where she may be coming from.

Thanks guys, its ok i've had a sleep and not feeling down about it anymore i knew from the start she wouldn't come just a shock seeing it in writing, onwards and upwards :D Xx

So sorry Hun, as a mother myself I'll never understand how a mum can be so cold like that I'll always be there for my kids no matter what and the biggest fall out wouldn't stop me trying with them :( xx
