wow i thought it was really hard to do it under £1000 and im struggling to stick with it, im trying to make as much as possible myself and getting flowers done for free the outfits for the men are more than my dress and clubbing outfit put together, were also going for a registry office and then going to h2b's mum's house for drinks and the toasts with good friends then off clubbing in the evening its all the legal bit thats making ours cost lots but ive included things like notice to marry in the budget and im estimating prices a bit higher than what they are to make me feel good when we spend the money :)

same here my registrar and public notice fee comes to 445, it was cheaper to do it at the registry office however it is next door to a certain brand of pub which is known for its cheap drinks and is always packed with all day drinkers it's also across the road from where I work. Big NO!

billybob: to get married in the hotel and for the registrar it's costing us £600 (ish) but we chose that over the reg office as it's over the other end of manchester and all my lot would get lost as they're all from scotland! plus neils mum and sister both have difficulty in walking so wouldn't make the 15 min walk and as it's in manchester there's no parking outside the registry office!!! lol x

    Lol no ohfiddles,

We're having a registry office ceremony, about 18 guests in total - £140 for banns and registrars fees on the day
Drinkies and nibbles after ceremony - £200
    Flowers - £50
    My dress - £70
    H2b suit - £80
My shoes - £100, but I HAVE to have them!
No photographer - we all have digital cameras and H2b and I will pick shots from everyone and make our own album

Then we are all off for a huge chinese banquet where everyone will pay for their own meals :0)

I am thinking of doing a late ceremony then just nibbles at local pub after. i have got to cut these costs lol xxx

That was our idea when we were having a bigger dooo, getting married around 4pm then having a huge hog roast for all guests in the evening and having the cake as the dessert - cuts down the catering costs HEAPS!

our registry office is costing £220 for 50 of us on a saturday includes deposit and notice fee
arboretum for picnic and humanist ceremony is £150 which is admission fees for everyone otherwise its free no other charges
£280 for masonic hall and bar staff
picnic food everyone is bringing things with them, we will be buying some wine etc h2b knows a good supplier for very cheap due to him owning a restaurant a few years ago, and we are buying the matching blankets etc not found this yet but we wont spend more than £40 bringing our own chairs for the oldies and small marquee we are getting for free from the hedehogs in farnham as h2b is associated with them.
Bridesmaids are buying own dresses as presents.
    Flowers from h2b dads shop
Cake mums friend is making as present
Disco and band are friends too
we are paying for nibbles in evening about £60
People paying for own drinks at bar
My dad and brother are paying for their suits my dad bought my dress for me
there are little extras still to get but not much so we will be in budget!
    so all done pretty much!!
not forgetting the £3.50 for certificate!
