We attended a wedding yesterday where they had evening reception table plans I hadn't thought of doing this only for the wedding breakfast - are you doing evening plans too?

Unless you're having another sit down thing in the evening i could see this as being very tricky, people wouldnt be able to mingle how they wish to, everyone is usually everywhere or up drinking and dancing. I think a table plan for the evening may slow the event down a bit too. Each to their own but i'm not structuring the evening, the only structure it will have will be cake cutting and first dance then it's party time!! xxx

No I am not doing a table plan for the evening reception. I have never been to a wedding where there is one- usually people who know each other just congregate together at tables. I guess it depends what type of do it is. Like Mrs T I am struggling with how to to my day list!
We are having a table plac for the evening reception, but that is because we are not having a wedding breakfast. We are getting married at 2.30, and after mingling and photos we wont be back to the reception hall until 5.30 ish, then I will be serving the hog roast, and puddings and buffet before dancing kicks off at 8pm. So we are having table plans for them, then the other locals are invited from 8pm, whereby all the tables will be pushed to the side of the hall to make way for a dance floor.

At night you wil find that alot of people move between tables to chat to other people so there is no point really xx

Nope; most of the tables will be coming out, and seating will be in the bar area/in booths. Most people will be drinking and dancing and all our evening food is finger-food.
As a guest, I'd hate a seating plan for the evening; I'd feel like I couldn't mingle/dance. It's a bit weird IMPO.
