We are taking our then 3yo DD on our honeymoon. Nothing has been booked yet, as we are still not sure about when we want to go, but i was wondering if anyone else is taking their kids? I can't imagine being away from her for a night, never mind a whole week or 2. I feel like we will enjoy it more as a family, too.

I think there are a lot of ladies here that have or will take take their children. We're hoping to have a baby before we go and he/she would come with us. If you think you'd worry about her then take her, like you said you'd probably enjoy it more because you're not worrying :)x

we aren't entirely sure what to do, we are asking for travel agent vouchers as wedding gifts so will be slightly delayed honeymoon.

Our thoughts were - go somewhere in the UK for a long weekend with our little one who will be almost 3 at the time, then have a week in europe (so close) with out her, but not entirely sure if i'll manage to be away with her for that long - so far have only had one night away and hated it, couldn't wait to get back.

Me and my oh went to Majorca for 3 nights when my daughter was 1 and we left her with her grandparents. It was awful. I cried everyday. Just wanted to be home with her. She's 3 now and we have a baby too. When we get married my oldest will be 4 and baby will be 1. My oh wants to go away for a week just the two of us for our honeymoon but I don't think I could leave them. I can just imagine being an emotional wreck the full week. I took my daughter away for a week when she was 2 and it took her days to get settled there. She wouldn't eat and sleep. I think she would be ok now with being older but it puts me off taking my youngest away until she's lot older. But can't leave one at home and take the other. So really don't know what to do.

Good friends of ours took their 2 year old son with them on their honeymoon and they went to 3 destination in a 2 week period. They went to Seychelles, Mauritius and ended in Dubai. Not ideal for everyone, but thought I would share.

i won't be taking mine with me he will be with my mum so i know he'll be well looked after and wouldn't need to worry plus i think a honeymoon should be intimate and romantic not a family affair.. sorry but thats just my view xx

Im undecided Ideally we would go to Mauritius for honeymoon but I think it needs to be a 2 week holiday There is no way in hell I could leave my Ds who will be almost 6 with his grandparents for that length of time. H2b goes to Mauritius for work sometimes and he said we could maybe do a week it will be hard but manageable (Jetlag wise) Our ds went away with his gran (MIL) for 4 nights and I hated it (I was at home though so may feel different if I was away).

We are now thinking getting away for a week our two selves and then go to Florida In the May after we get married all three of us.

Princesspixie don't be sorry I totally get what your saying and don't disagree with it, I just don't know if I could go away for any length of time without him (However he does start school in August so I may see it differently then)

We are taking our 2 and half yr old on our honeymoons.
We are doing one at but lins a week after the wedding and then To turkey in August (we are taking the in laws)so we can have a day or a night where we can go out and just be together. The thought of leaving him for my hen do night and the wedding night terrifies me so a whole week I just can't bear to think about.

Although sometimes I do think it would be lovely to have a week of lie ins.... Bliss xxx

Wow! I am so suprised so many are taking their child. My friend left her then 9mo at home with the in laws for a week when she went on her honeymoon. I thought everyone did that and I was the only one too wimpey to leave LOs behind. I just know I wouldn't enjoy it without her and neither would H2B.
