Did or Is anyone changing into flat shoes at night? My wedding is Scottish themed and was planning on getting matching tartan flat shoes for myself and the bridesmaids for the ceilidh at night but when I asked the lady in the dress shop about a change of shoes she said this will mess up the length of the dress as it will be fitted for high heels. Just wondering how anyone else dealt with this?

im wearing flats as soon as the church bit is over. H2B is only a little taller than me and when i put my heels on i will be a little taller. he is a bit paranoid about it so im going to put some flats on for rest of the day. i wouldnt worry about the length once you have finished your photos. when i walk i will just pick my dress up at front so i dont stand on it x

My H2B is over 6ft tall and I'm only just over 5ft haha and all my bridesmaid are taller than me so was planning on wearing slightly higher heels during the day and having the bridesmaids wear lower heels to balance it out a little. Although lets face it, I'd need stilts to be the same height as the groom :P If I wear the higher heels then change into flats my dress might be dangerously long. Not sure what to do. Thats a fair point BeckyU98, its doesnt really matter after the photos.

Love it MrsC.Wade2B! They will be so comfy :)

I had a pair of converse trainers which I had to change into for the evening, however, I found my heels so comfy still.

My h2b is 6'4 so I'm deffo wearing heels for the ceremony but as soon as it comes to dancing I'm putting flat shoes on. I've considered buying some c0nverse and blinging them up, comfort is the key as it's going to be a long day :)

I'm going to wear heels for the ceremony as like Melissa my H2B is over 6ft. I'm going to take some flats and do like one of my friends did at her wedding. She took some flats and wore them for the photos outside with all the guest and family etc because she knew nobody could see them and they wouldn't show in the photo. Then she changed back into her heels as she knew next she'd be sitting down for the wedding breakfast. She changed her dress during the evening, so changed her shoes as well again, but to another pair of heels.

I'm taking flats as I'm no good with heels as it is anyway! x

I don't do heels at all. Anything over half an inch high makes me walk like a storch.
If I fall in love with heels (it has to be a super small one), I will only wear them for the day and then wear either slippers or some comfortable shoes as soon as we get to the venue.
If you're worried about your dress lengt, you can get flip-flops with a bit of a heel.

I have seen some flats that I love but HO mat just giggles at them they are silver sequin all over they are t0m's. I do love my heals and could prob last right through the night but think the flats will add a bit of fun to the night and I would wear them again

I never even considered getting some flats, once the ceremony is over I had just planned to kick my shoes off and go barefoot on the dancefloor... time to go shoe shopping online.

Are there not any really comfortable heels? Or maybe you could get some of those sole cushions that you can get and just get a pair of flats to keep in case? I'm just ridiculously short anyway, so I'm contemplating cheating and wearing flats for the whole thing (it kind of fits our theme better too:) ) xoxox

I am planning on changing into flats in the evening. My oh is 6ft 5 so if i dont wear heels for the ceremony im going to end up with a bad neck. I will keep the heels on for our first dance and then switch to flats. x

I wanted flats for the evening, I'm 5'6 and other half is 5'10 however whilst I only have a small 2" heel on my shoes, and I'm fairly used to wearing heels, I'm not sure I can last all night. I tried flats on, but I trip over my dress! It's perfect length when I have my small heels. But take em off and I'm falling over my dress. It's only an a line shape with a hoop too.

May have a pair as back up, but don't want to fall over in it.

I tripped over my dress a bit with flats on but if they'd have made it any shorter it would have looked silly in heels, just pick your dress up when you walk

My shoes are really comfy so I think I'll be OK (plus I'm always in heels!) If I Get uncomfy I'll take them off for the three hours during wedding breakfast to let feet recover and then stick them back on! Xx
