Just seen this on the mail website! The couple spent a total of 738.00 and that included the dress bridesmaid dresses food for 200 people. Brides dress flowers wow does this make you think that any amount large or small can be done? Xx

I bought my dress brand new with tags for £62. I can imagine it can be done, but our biggest costs are our venue and DJ

My Wedding was less than a thousand, though that was with a lot of people helping us!!

I read today that the average UK Wedding now costs £18,000.
Why go into Married life in debt or spend all your savings on one day, ridiculous!!!
    But, that my opinion!!

    :-)

Ours we have paid for on our own, will be coming in at just under £5000. I would NEVER spend more than that!

I went to my neighbours wedding in may this year they were on a strict budget of 2k and have a large family. They got the majority of their food from iceland and the rest from a meat van, we helped the day before with the cooking and buffett although I dont shop there often because its mostly freezer stuff, I do for ww meals the food was great! I think its the luck of the draw there and different times of the year. Plus alot of places dont allow you to take in your own food x

I think I saw the couple on the 1c3l@nd documentay. Didn't realise that's how cheap their wedding was. Have to say, that's an impressive price, hats off to them.

I read in the Metro today that the average wedding including honeymoon now costs £22k.

Worked our budget out at 22k and that's without the honeymoon :|

Needless to say I almost had a heart attack and am now trying to reduce it as much as I can lol. Though I do think (hope!) I've grossly over estimated!

Luckily were getting help off the parentals, but even so at this point I wish we'd just got a new car haha. I also can't help but think of how much that could pay off the mortgage.... Ughhh

it's great if you can do awedding THAT cheaply but imagine the stress as you ae getting ready putting pork pies and chicken wings in the oven. No thanks I will spend my small fortune and feel fabulous and hopefully look it and be as stress free as possible x

I saw that article through Facebook but I thought the dress didn't fit right, it was massive around the boob areas...
I'm not sure I'd want to feed my guests a buffet from Iceland either, and I know each to their own,and they have done it really well on such a good budget but I worry that they'll end up renewing their vows in the future as theyll want a grander day x
