    Morning everyone,

I just wanted to warn people to be very careful when buying online. I know I have read about a lot of you finding bargins on the net. I dont buy things very often online but when I do I'm always very careful that the site is protected and looks reputable etc but on Friday my bank called me and someone has managed to get my details from the web and wiped out every single penny I have!! and they have gone into my overdraft which Im now paying for. Luckily the bank will refund me once its proved fraud but I am devestated and will never use my card online again.

    Abi xxx

OOoohh NNoooo!! Thats horrible hun :( you're not the first person I know that this has happened to though, including myself. I did prove fraud and got all my money back from the bank, and it only took a couple of weeks as well. It just makes you feel like you've been mugged doesn't it? I was really upset and can imagine how you're feeling right now. I do think a reminder to everyone that orders online to be careful is a good thing, we all get complacent with these things at times. Hope you're all sorted soon hun and feel better xx

You need to be uber careful these days when shoppig online. I use something called Spoofstick. You install it in your browser and it tells you at the top in big leters exactly what page you are on.

For example - if you go to a bank site, lets say the abbey national... it will say at the top: "You're on Santander.com"

If its a dodgy site you can see the name is not right before you put in any details.

Its now saying "You're on UKBride.co.uk" so i know im on the right site!

Give it a go - its saved me getting viruses and scammed loads of times!

That sounds really good Goff wish I'd of known of that before. Although I know I will get my money back and I have a new card I can't stop thinking about this and the crooks that do this type of thing to honest people who work hard for that money!!! xxx

another thing to watch out for is when you look at the top of your page, it has http:/ before the address, if your buying something or giving any details online, it will always say https:/ before the address, the extra 's' indicating that its a safe and trusted site x

From what the bank said it sounds like the have hacked into the website itself to steal peoples card details from them so it could be a site that I haven't even used recently! xxx

    Sorry to hear that :(

Most genuine sites offer the payment to be processed through pay pal now for people not comfortable paying straight to the compay.. If the choice is there I always pay through pay pal safest way I think.
