    Hi ladies

I have combination skin, which gets quite oily throughout the day, and wondered if airbrush or normal/mineral make up would be better for the wedding? I'm starting to worry that I'll look 'shiney' on the photos :( x

    Hi Bev,

I have combination skin, but I have never used airbrush or mineral makeup, so I can't comment on them.

For my wedding day, I used lancome teint idole ultra, then a face powder from cl1nique to set it. I put a little extra powder on my usually shiny areas, as it was an "invisible" coloured powder, so it didn't matter how much I put on.

A little bit of bronzer and blusher, and the job's a good'n.

If you really want to try a mineral make up though, just find a shop that has a counter (b00ts, HoF, JL), and get a trial done. Go about your day, and see how long it lasts......

I hope that is of some use to you :-)

Mineral one .... Go to one of the counters in a dept store and have a makeover .. If you do this in the morning you can see how it's lasts .

I had mineral makeup done and it was flawless and didn't shift .... Still looked really good at 1.30am !

I have done a fair bit of my own wedding make up research, as I'm no expert, and doing my own. People recommend a primer, as it prevents shine and redness, and keeps the makeup fresh. Also you can buy fixing spray. I bought all of these last week from soooperdr*g. I will do a few trial runs with them over the coming months.

    Hi Bev,
I was a beauty therapist and have worked on several makeup counters over the years. A primer would be good but you need a long wear foundation that is oil free which is going to last all day, 3 laud3r do a long wear one which comes in light coverage or heavier coverage depending what look you are going for or another brand would be cl1n1qu3 who do a light coverage one and they have just brought out some primers which are for alsorts of skin concerns. If you go to either of these counters you can get a 7 day sample for free to try it and see what you think which is great because you want it to be perfect for you perfect day.
