Has anyone else seen the article on the wedding decoration company that has folded leaving brides to be in a lurch, including phoning some up on there day telling them that they wouldn't be able to provide them with their decorations? Links on my profile. Anyways, I did some searching and their website is still up! I've heard of venues, bridal shops, and suppliers going out of business. Anyone have some helpful tips to avoid having this happen?

No but that is so poor! It's hard to avoid, the only thing is to try book reputable companies, go for recommendations and preferred suppliers if you can afford it.
There was a company on bbc watchdog though who took money but didn't deliver or delivered part of the order only xx

Its awful. Wedding insurance gives you some peace of mind but imagine if you only found out on the day :( there would be nothing you could do, its so cruel. I follow quite a few wedding groups on bookface and I am always reading about people being ripped off or let down, its truly awful :(

You're both right. I think this has me freaking out because I'm such a control freak. The idea of being left high and dry on the day by a supplier is driving me crazy!

Its the stuff of nightmares Sarah. I will be keeping regular contact with mine. I don't know if this is good or bad, but I have one woman doing my decorations, cake and flowers. On the upside I only have to worry about one supplier for three things, however if she goes bust/ditches me I will have none of the above!! However, she has been doing this for over 25 years so I am not going to worry about it too much :/
Merging is it's easily fine setting up a website or Facebook page alarm bells should be ringing if you contact them and they ask for bank transfers or cheques to be sent directly abc they avoid face to face contact! Although there was a woman running a company around here ripping people off it was on TV she was offering a full package inc dress photos for 2,000 and eiether came up with poor used/ unprofessionals to do it all she promised one bride a 590 dress in the sale she ended up with a £43 eBay copy it's bad his they can prey in the most important and happiest days of someone's life xx

I nearly booked this company for our wedding. They have taken their fb page down now but im sure I saw on fb that the lady was having another company take over and some other people just thought it was all a massive scam xx
