I've been doing a general 'wedding' search on the bay, and there's so many little bits and bobs that I would love for my wedding eve/morning, like bride-to-be slippers, a 'Bride' onesie etc, but I'm almost 100% certain noone will think of any such things.. So my question is, shall I avoid disappointment and just get my little bits myself ? Or will that make it less special ? What do you all think..
I'm the person that would think of all those things and would make up a big box for a bride I was close to, full of little bits like it..
I know some of you may not see that stuff as necessary or a waste of money etc but it is things I would like.. Xxx

Well I know that if I told H2B or showed him stuff and dropped hints he would sort it for me. I have made him a box for the morning of our wedding which he knows about but not the contents so he might do the same for me anyway. Cant you mention to your mum or MOH and just drop hints? You have time to do that and if you figure in the month before that no one got anything for you then you could buy them?

I would do it for yourself! that way it saves you any disappointments if its not done for you.

Do it yourself :) I bought myself a dressing gown that said "bride" and the wedding date. I still love it, it doesn't feel less special because I bought it myself

My H2B wouldn't understand why I want them.. He said a personalised hanger for my dress is a waste of money (I've bought the hanger and paint separate £6, already made one is £15+)
I'm going to make him a box, but I doubt very much he'll make me one.. I doubt he'll do anything tbh..
I think I'll wait and drop a few hints like you've said MrsCross, I have hinted to my mum, but think she just assumes I'll get it for myself.. But will definitely get myself the stuff if I don't think anyone else has..

I totally get this! My one skill in life is my present-buying! I always get thoughtful presents for people- friends, family, OH...but I always get generic gifts in return. Not sound ungrateful because I love the presents I get but unless I spell it out to my OH or mates I would literally get vouchers for birthdays and Xmas! I had bridesmaid and page boy/flower girl cards made and sent them through the post to surprise people as I know it meant a lot to the people involved and they loved the gesture. But that's my personality to do things like that, and I have never had a personalised gift given to me so I'm totally not expecting anything like the dressing gown or slippers. I might invest myself as I'm only doing this once and want to experience it all x

I've made myself a fully front zipped hoody in tiffany blue and ironed on "bride to be" diamantes. I'm making similar for my BMs... but I have this for pure practicality for the morning! I'm gonna wait out for my hen do to see if BMs get me any paraphenalia for the day, if they don't get the bits and bobs I'd like, i'll get them myself... stuff like a garter etc.
And we lived happily ever after!

I'm so glad I'm not the only one :-) I have to write everybody lists for my bday/Xmas but I never need / get one from anyone lol.. I have received things I mentioned in passing that I've reeeally wanted.. My H2B got me a personalised Superman mug :-D but he knocked it out cupboard a few weeks later :-( lol..
It's like I got my friend a personalised photo frame for her wedding gift but I know I won't get the same sort of gifts.. We are hoping for money though to take on honeymoon :-)
I'm definitely going to get myself a bride dressing gown or zip hoody.. Then wait to see if anyone makes a point in telling me not to get anything else or whatever xxx
