After a week of solid research, stress and tears, we're hopefully booking our Mexico honeymoon tonight!
10 nights at the adult's only Luxury Gran Bahia Principe Sian Ka'an in a penthouse suite with private roof top jacuzzi and sun loungers followed by 7 nights in a swim-up suite at the (also adult's only) Excellence Riviera Cancun, with private taxi transfers throughout!
I am SO excited!!

I've been to the Caribbean 7 times and counting June-August (going to the Dom Rep in a week and a bit) but not in October, so I don't know what to expect! It's hurricane season but so is June-August, and the peak month is September, so, hopefully we'll be OK! Can always just make use of room service and the spa if we get weather like we did back in 2011 (2.5 days of solid rain and 2 days of overcast skies and frequent showers..!)
I am SOOOO excited though lol. We've always wanted to go for 17 or 18 nights, but I didn't think it'd be in budget; it's actually costing the same as 2 weeks!

Sounds fabulous! Wish we could afford Something like that! But as far as credit we have, we only have £2500 Max budget for us both! Not using credit cards!

We are off to the Caribbean in July for our Honeymoon but going to 2 of the more southern islands as they aren't as affected, plus we know people that have been around same time as but as you say, there's always room service and the spa oh, and the bars lol. Will be our first time to the Caribbean :)

Valentina: we're using a couple months of savings to pay for it. We won't be able to go away on a big holiday for probably 5-7 years after this, so it's kind of a 'last hurrah' IYKWIM. We have to pay for the flights upfront so OH is putting those on his interest-free CC which we'll pay off next month :-)
Mrs T. 2 Be: where are you going? We love the Caribbean; I just love the people, the culture, the scenery, and the hotels are awesome! I was actually looking at doing a multi-centre in Italy but with spending money, it was going to work out way more expensive for the types of hotels we wanted, so, we ruled it out. Hopefully we'll get there over the next few years though, as we'll likely be taking very short 3-5 night hand-luggage only type trips for the forseeable future lol

It's a stretch for us, I'll admit; esp as FMIL was supposed to be helping but isn't :-s We've been very lucky though and my parents are paying for most of the wedding, so, we'll be able to get the money; it just means dipping into savings which isn't ideal but hey ho!
Mrs T: Barbados and St Lucia look amazing! St Lucia particularly is on my 'to do' list; along with a whole host of other countries lol (ahem!)

My Dad was in the Navy and has don't the majority of the Caribbean Islands and LOVED Barbados and said he would want to go back so it must be nice as my Dad doesn't go back anywhere lol.

Ooh, honeymoon twins! We're there from the 6-16th October, then moving on to the Excellence, and we fly back on the 23rd :-)
We're heading back to their resort in Punta Cana (Luxury Bahia Principe Esmeralda) for the second time on Tuesday, and it's lush, so I'm hoping that the Sian Ka-an will be just as good, if not better! Also REALLY excited about the penthouse suite; the butler will fill the jacuzzi for you, so, I'm thinking of asking them to do it for a certain time each day and then chilling there with a glass of wine after we've got back from the pool :-D

Ohh, we will be heading out there 1 month before you, I will let you know what it's like but will keep a lot as a surprise :-)I literally can't wait, this time next year we'll be there eeeeek! I agree, so excited about the jacuzzi, chilling with some wine sounds amazing! I don't think I'll want to come home lol.
Ooo how weird, h2b and I along with my parents went there in may this year! We loved the Punta Cana Bahia principe, although we weren't in the esmerelda, the place was amazing!

We stayed at the GBP Punta Cana back in 2008! lol. The Esmeralda is lovely; very quiet and the rooms are gorgeous, and you get similar perks to the Sian Kaan (eg unlimited a la carte dining which is a 'must' for us, 24 hour room service, etc). Really cannot wait to get there!
And yes, if you could give me any tips/hints that would be fab! Similarly, if you'd like any info about the area/trips, please fire away as we've been 3 times and done most things :-)
